  • Summary: I have played Harvest Moon for several years and while this is a step-up from Island of Happiness, this game makes you work for everything you get. Befriending the villagers, which is vital to your success in the game, is very difficult, and don't even let me get started on the bachelors/bachelorettes. But there is a satisfaction you get with every island you raise...

One of the best

  • Summary: I am not too far along yet but having played most of the older games I like the additions that I see. I find the sprite enchantment thing a little confusing, but can see how it would really help when you get further along

Made the kids happy!

  • Summary: My niece requested this game on her Christmas List. She was thrilled to receive it and said it was a lot of fun, as she expected. The price was great as well! It beat Target's price, which was the store from which I was going to buy!

  • Summary: It's a bit difficult to figure out, but I love the harvest moon games. It just takes a while to get into. I would recommend it for older children, definitely.

  • Summary: if your looking for a game that you can sit there and work hard to make your farm come to life here is a game the only downfall is how hard you actually have to work there isnt enough hours in the day to water plants keep animals happy and make friends and even marry so sit back have fun and if you want this game dont pay over thirty for it

Best Harvest Moon for the DS so far.

Celia, Amazon

  • Summary: Sunshine Islands is a redo of Island of Happiness, with a different map but mostly the same people. It has the same amount of stylus controls, but it also allows you to use the d-pad and buttons instead, unlike Island of Happiness. It is also easier to successfully grow crops. You don't get your objective until Spring 10, so for the first ten days you run around without any goals. The menus are informative but look rushed.

Better than Island of Happiness

Posh Bostonite, Amazon

  • Summary: My opinion is biased, as I've played just about every one of these games. Pen tool- Unlike Island of Happiness, you aren't bound to the pen, which was annoying. BUT! You have to switch in and out of it, and once you're used to how it works in IoH, it seems sort of pointless. Otherwise, it's almost the same game, just with more stuff and without the trouble of having to find every single person (that was a good experiment, bad in practice) and they give you wheat and rice...

A cute game, but one that takes patience

S. Gibson, Amazon

  • Summary: As I'm sure most who read this review know, Harvest Moon is a series that is over a decade old and spans plenty of platforms(mostly older ones). It has a strong fanbase, but the games aren't too hard to get into for newbies. However, before I continue, those of you who like instant gratification and/or dislike repetition would do well to stay away. Basically, you start out with a plot of land that is covered with weeds, rocks and logs.
