Summary: Very similar to Friends of Mineral Town, in a good way. Friends of Mineral Town has been my favorite Harvest Moon game. Although I enjoyed some of the console versions, the longevity and polish of Mineral Town just can't be beat. Sunshine Islands has a lot of the best qualities of Mineral Town.
Summary: I am not too far along yet but having played most of the older games I like the additions that I see. I find the sprite enchantment thing a little confusing, but can see how it would really help when you get further along
Summary: My niece requested this game on her Christmas List. She was thrilled to receive it and said it was a lot of fun, as she expected. The price was great as well! It beat Target's price, which was the store from which I was going to buy!
Summary: for DS its pretty good however compared to most other harvest moon games its not very in depth with festivals and farm life is a little weak compared to N64 and playstation versions of harvest moon
Summary: Sunshine Islands is a redo of Island of Happiness, with a different map but mostly the same people. It has the same amount of stylus controls, but it also allows you to use the d-pad and buttons instead, unlike Island of Happiness. It is also easier to successfully grow crops.
Summary: My opinion is biased, as I've played just about every one of these games. Pen tool- Unlike Island of Happiness, you aren't bound to the pen, which was annoying. BUT! You have to switch in and out of it, and once you're used to how it works in IoH, it seems sort of pointless.
Summary: As I'm sure most who read this review know, Harvest Moon is a series that is over a decade old and spans plenty of platforms(mostly older ones). It has a strong fanbase, but the games aren't too hard to get into for newbies.
Summary: This game is so much better than Island of Happiness. You collet sunstones to raise special islands that unlock characters. [mushroom island, animal island, volcano island, etc.] You get sunstones by befriending villagers and earning their trust.
