Most boring game I own
15 December 2008
Summary: I was really excited when I ordered this game and anxiously awaited its arrival. After all the previews I saw of it on a dvd made it look great. But was I ever disappointed when I started playing the game. I am a huge fan of Harry Potter books and movies even though I'm adult. The game was just boring, nothing but running back and forth through the same corridors and every few minutes having to play the same duel game or attend a DA meeting.
Summary: I have found this game enjoyable- up to a certain extent. I just recently purchased the nintendo ds and am still getting used to it. There are a lot of things- such as some of the mini-games that I enjoy. HOWEVER, I simply detest the duels!!! Why? you may ask-simply because I cannot seem to cast a spell worth a flip.
Excerpt: In my opinion this game isn't very good. The graphics are poor and after half an hour it is easy to have finished the game letting you wander around aimlessly doing nothing. You have no choice in what happens and you just get transported into diferrent classrooms and so forth doing random stuff. I was a great fan of the books but this was in my opinion below rubbish. For a game over £20 I could think of hundreds of better things to buy then this useless game.
Cons: Not much to do . \_Bad graphics . \_Bad value for money
Excerpt: "...you're trying to make a Harry Potter Collection, but not a good game to play. The graphics in this game are like Runescape AKA Terrible. The storyline is very short, and when the storyline ends, it says you have only completed 20% of the game, when there is nothing else to do! In the storyline of course, Voldemort is building an army, meaning Harry must do the same. Voldemort, however, is after one thing which he didn't get before. Harry's Prophecy! In ...
Pros: Hardly Any
Cons: Graphics, Storyline, Do the same things over and over
Excerpt: "I have Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for the Playstation, and I thoroughly enjoyed that game, and I thought this would be similar. But no I was wrong. It doesn't have anyway near the same amount of tasks and challenges that the Chamber of secrets playstation game has. Most of the game you're running around the castle. I have also played the Playstation version of this and it is exactly the same, so I can compare it to the Chamber of secrets ...
Conclusion: This game was a big let down. Mini games are v. simple and all you seem to do is run around hogwarts with people following you that often get in the way. The duelling is also very boring and quite restrictive and if you are unable to beat someone then you can't move on unless you beat them so it takes forever to get past sections.
Conclusion: This game was a huge let down, the awful camera angles are frustrating, as are the people that get in your way as you try to move anywhere. Very simple tasks that involve a lot of useless running around are boring and soon completed. The use of the stylus is well done for spell casting and mini games but that is the games only saving grace! I suggest renting if you really want to play but if you're a fan of the previous games you're going to be disappointed as I was!
Excerpt: "...the film (and book) of Harry Potters 5th year at Hogwarts. This will take you through different adventures and challenges. **Age Group** On the box it says 7 years and up which is true enough as it wouldn't really be suitable for children under that age. This would probibly mostly appeal to teenagers and adults more than children. The storyline is a lot darker than previous books so watch out for that. **The Story** You start out as Harry ...
Pros: Not bad sound effects and graphics, multiplayer mode
Cons: Boring, lifeless game which could have been brilliant !
