Don't Buy It

Summary: First off, PLEASE. DO NOT BUY THE GAME. It's a game that you could rent. But it's not good enough to play over and over again without getting bored. At one point in the game, you have to help Luna Lovegood find her dress, purse, and shoes. But because Hogwarts is GIGANTIC,they are near impossible to find. I found them, after playing the game for a month....so, the game was pretty sad to play, and considering that i'm a huge Harry Potter fan.
Summary: HBP is the 2nd game I bought for my DS and I am disappointed. This is the first HP game I've played on any platform besides PC, and I was hoping it would be better than each of the progressively more and more terrible PC games, but it's even worse. I'm only about halfway through, and it wouldn't be too bad except for the the endless row of pointless tasks where you have to traverse the castle looking for different opjects.
Summary: Not as nice as the other harry potter games.. has no real game to it. Much more go from point A to Point B, do such and such and then go from point B to point C. Lot more just running around. Unless your a die hard Harry Potter fan, its not very fun.
Some bright spots, but too short and the quidditch is a real annoyance

Summary: I've played most of the Harry Potter games on multiple platforms and I am always excited when a new movie comes out, because it means a new game is probably not far behind. And although I always enjoy experiencing the environments and characters of a new game, I found the DS version of HBP disappointing. First of all, I completely agree with the reviewers who found the quidditch frustrating, particularly the fact that one had to win at it to move on in the game.
Summary: If I had bought this game for myself my rating would be much higher but since I bought it for my 5 year old son, it was a complete waste. The game requires the player to read in order to do nearly everything and since he is just learning, it's next to impossible for him to play. I would not recommend this game for anyone under 10. Sorry Harry, this one isn't E!
Excerpt: As a big fan of Harry Potter when I got my DSI I chose the HP game thinking it would be really good. Previously i've played the other games for the ps2 which i should have got this one for. Compared to the other games this was a let down. I found it a bit dull and making the potions the candle would burn out half way through making them if the ingredients needed to be mashed. I got stuck a few times and looked up a few cheats which really helped.
Excerpt: Having played on an older Harry potter game designed for the GBA and finding it a bit dull I thought that the new game designed for the Nintendo DS would be more interesting to play and also more challenging. Having recieved my Dooyoo cheque I decided to treat myself to the new Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince. The game is easily available and is currently on sale at Amazon for £24.99.
