Summary: I love the Front Mission series and was excited to see it on the DS. However this port suffers from bad UI and boring, redundant gameplay. Front Mission 4 for the PS2 is one of my favorite games, but Front Mission DS simply is not as engaging or fun. Basic (and required) functions like adding items to multiple wanzers during set-up are terribly redundant--requiring up to seven clicks to switch between pilots.

Summary: If you're looking for a fresh take on the turn-based strategy genre, though, turn back now. A long time has passed since this austere game first appeared, and while it was something of a creative anomaly at that time, now its age is showing, and unfortunately, it has not aged well.
