Summary: Dungeon Crawler with limited story and repetitive monsters and dungeons...Other than that ...It is still fun to hack and slash your way up the ladder! Bosses are ok, but easy to beat....maybe I just over-leveled my character.
Summary: Saw this game in a used game shop and decided to give it a try, I only paid $20 so I'm not too upset. But I'd argue anyone who gives this game anything over a 3 has NEVER played an rpg. Its as bland as they come, there is nothing new or unique about this game. Made (or translated) by a company I've never heard of, everything is copy and paste. This is very obviously a budget game, quickly cobbled together to make a quick buck.
Summary: If you're looking for some mindless repetitive hack slash crawl entertainment. This might be your fix. I got it for really cheap here on Amazon.com and played it all the way through and then some. Really good game for in between calls at work(oops, did i say that?). The only downside to the game is having to use the stylus for your inventory. You do have to access your inventory JUST enough to have it be annoying.
Summary: This game won't blow you away but it was a fun diversion. I enjoyed the game because the game play was reminiscent of the Mana series, but with a shorter story line. It is your typical dungeon crawler but there was still enough variety of spells and weapons from getting too stale. Had there been more storyline, the game might have been a bigger hit, but the game was incredibly short (I beat it in about 6-8 hours).
Summary: From the Abyss is a simple, solid Action-RPG in the vain of games such as Secret of Mana, the Shining Soul series, etc. The XP and loot systems, while entertaining, are rather limited, making the whole gaming experience feel rather linear and pre-determined. That said, the game is an entertaining "my first action-RPG" dungeon crawler that works well for those mindless play sessions, such as while you're watching TV with your significant other.
