The word "ancient" is key here...

Jeremy J Uliss, Amazon

  • Summary: This is an old-style game only recommended for die-hard fans of this sort of gameplay; a smidgen of character customization, fuzzy-ish graphics, repetitive gameplay, and some grinding. Nowadays, there are much better games upon which to spend your time.

not bad, but not that good either

  • Summary: I got this looking for a good action rpg or hack and slash and wasnt too impressed. I did quite a bit of research and decided to get it after quite a few good reviews on various different sites. I am having a hard time finding the motivation just to keep playing it.

The Dungeon Crawler your are looking for

Zazezizozuzy, Amazon
15 September 2011
  • Summary: I rarely used my DS prior to finding this game. Most adventure games I found were just disappointing. I wanted a Diablo/Baulders Gate-like game. Something of a hack and slash style that gave me dungeons upon dungeons and endless amounts of loot. I found that with this game.

Simple but fun.

  • Summary: This is a strange game. The graphics remind me of ancient PC titles, but at the same time, they're strangely endearing and really grow on you over time. It's a straight up hack and slash with only some minor story elements, but it all worked for me.

Looking for a good grind?

  • Summary: Well if you are looking for a fair Diablo clone that you can put in you pocket this is it. Despite a contrite art style, goofy story and strange and random "arts system" in place of a true "skill tree system," Dungeon Explorer delivers a lot of fun for the money.

Like a messed up Diablo for the DS

Nate, Amazon

  • Summary: This game was nothing like what I expected, and I don't mean that in a good way. I would suggest purchasing another game. No dissing to the seller. The item came before estimated. I would just suggest another game

Good mindless Hack and Slash

Jordan N. Garn "Jordan Garn", Amazon
15 December 2009
  • Summary: This game was quick and easy to get into, that being said if you want a challenging game then this probably isn't the game for you. But if your looking for a pretty creative nice and easy game then this is a good one to get into.

Stick to classics

Dr. BT, Amazon
30 August 2008
  • Summary: I am such a fan of the Dungeon Explorer that came out for the TurboGrafx-16 many years ago because the elements in that games was reminiscent of classic Guantlet except that it had more interesting characters such as witch, warriors, wizards, etc.
