Those who liked the first game will love this sequel. Such focus on user-created content is a freedom incredibly unique in this game – and therefore, incredibly enjoyable. Outside of that creative freedom, the game is easy, can be trite and frequently moves at an unbearable pace. The user-created content is enough to rescue Drawn To Life: TNC and make it an innovative title for children. That said, the target market isn’t just kids, but kids with some patience. Read more
When THQ released Drawn To Life two years ago, it opened a creative doorway for players, letting them generate characters and other items to interact with. The sequel, , works in the same manner. You battle the evil Wilfre, a lunatic who wants nothing more than to suck the color out of your world. To stop him, you'll not only draw your character's basic design, but also which weapon they'll use and some items they'll interact with. Read more

Fans of the original game will appreciate the nice visual updates and other minor changes found in The Next Chapter, even if the overall experience isn't drastically different. A recipient of critical acclaim at this year’s E3, Drawn To Life: The Next Chapter has hit stores in time for the holiday season. Ahem, Let’s continue on where I’ll “outline” how this game plays. Read more
Sticking close to a tried and tested formula, The Next Chapter refines what the first Drawn to Life brought to the DS, yet doesn’t solve the all-too basic platforming issue, only makes it more diverse. Tailoring your own game is still the strongest appeal and as such this game is a fitting choice for first time youngsters with new DSes. Read more
When I got Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter in the mail, I was certain I was in for a pretty bumpy ride. Instead I was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. On the whole, this is a better game than its predecessor in nearly every facet of its design. There are still some problems. The game is short, the ending is extremely unsatisfying, and it’s a bit too easy. Even still, if you liked the first game, you won’t be done wrong by this one. Read more
Once upon a time, a game was made for Nintendo DS that allowed players to draw their own characters. It wasn’t a gimmick – using a template system that allowed players to draw within a predetermined area or a pre-made set of shapes, it was actually possible to make an original game character. That character would then become animated within the template – sort of like magic, but it had more to do with clever game design than something that came from a magician. Read more
