Summary: If you have a DS and enjoy role playing then you should have the Dragon Quest games. Unfortunately number IV which I think is the best of them all, had the vast majority of its dialogue removed. The fan outcry was obviously heard because that was restored for V and VI. This game does a twist on some typical features you're familiar with in these settings, the dream/real world is similar to but different enough from the Link to the Past's Light/Dark world.
Summary: Never been a fan of Dragon Warrior games, but Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2 really turned me around on this series. So I decided to grab up the DS trilogy. Apprehensive at first since so many DQ fans were saying this was the worst of the trilogy, I ended up liking VI better than V. In Heavenly Bride you start out as a kid having baby adventures. It can be really amusing at times but ultimately you're just waiting to grow up so the real game can begin.
Summary: I've been a fan of Dragon Quest well before the name change (Use to be Dragon Warrior) and have been playing the series since it's first release back in the 80's. Dragon Quest 5 & 6 never made it over to the states and the last game of the original 2 trilogies was Dragon Warrior 4. Through the years I had been looking to complete the 2 of the original games and played various translations in ROM formats, that never really gave me the full experience.
Summary: ive always loved dragon quest (dragon warrior when i first became aware of it) its a prime example of the adage "if it aint broke.." spectacular series. DQ 8 is up there with FF7, 9, 6, and 4.. if you havent played DQ 8 you absolutely must..its a work of art. DQ9 and the "zenithian trilogy" on ds (4, 5, and 6) are also essential.
