A game for Dragon Questers

greenranger2005, Amazon
20 August 2011
  • Summary: This game was fun but not what I thought. Don't get me wrong still a fun game though. I just thought it would be more like Dragon Quest 8 which had just come out at the same time. The story is a little thin but the monsters and art is great. As always the art for the characters and monsters is done by Akira Toriyama who did Dragon Ball Z. And I simply go gaga over his art and his stuff. But I digress.

A new version of a childhood favorite

Heather Evans, Amazon
26 January 2009
  • Summary: I picked up Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker because I remembered playing the original Dragon Quest Monsters when it came out (I was in middle school at the time) and enjoyed the game. I have to say, the series is still really fun. I'm about halfway through now and haven't been able to put it down. Since it's a monster battling game, it's tempting to compare it to Pokemon, but they're two entirely different games.

Lots of Level Grinding

Tawna Evans, Amazon
21 November 2007
  • Summary: Because I'm a devout fan of Dragon Quest video games, I got Dragon Quest Monsters to add to my collection. Monster collecting games like Pokemon do not appeal to me, because they involve tons of level-grinding. This game is no different. In the game, there are 7 different islands. Each island has different monsters, ranked according to their power from "F" being lowest to "A" or "S" being highest.

My kinda game!

Chaoler, Ciao
13 February 2013
  • Excerpt: OK, so recently my supply of games dried up and felt the need to get a new one to fill the gap while waiting for something big, and instantly fell in love with this. While I have got other games to write about, I feel the need to write about this one now. With its fairly straightforward game-play yet challenging levels and the sense of freedom that you have, this game is definitely one to play. First, you have the all time classic style of monster capturing and battling.
  • Pros: OK story, nice fluent, easy gameplay
  • Cons: A little tedious trying to level up your monsters, the graphics

Dragon Quest meet Pokemon

Secre, Ciao
4 November 2011
  • Excerpt: Dragon Quest have recently released Dragon Quest Monsters 2 which automatically shot onto my ‘NEED! list along with Harry Potter Lego years 5-7; yes, I’m fairly certain we’ve already covered my fluid definition of the concept of ‘need’ previously. Unfortunately for me I have already bought myself a SatNav this month and at £120 that means my finances are a little stretched.
  • Pros: A good, fun game that will keep you occupied
  • Cons: A little bit sparse on the content side and the endless grinding

Inferior to its gameboy color ancestor in all ways. Decent apart from that

Paul Teevan, amazon.co.uk
13 July 2010
  • Summary: The ai,game design dungeon design, encounters, encounter speed, monster breeding system, cpu opponents, bonus bosses, lastability, replayability, depth and difficulty are all a big step down from the gameboy colour game, but taken on its own merits its a pretty good game. It does have superiour PVP at least. But with the slow battles, pointless story and the level this game has been dumbed down, I kept wishing for Terry.

Good game at first... but does get repetitive.

Amazon Customer, amazon.co.uk
10 October 2008
  • Summary: When i first got this game it was realy good... untill i found out how repetitive it can realy be. This game is pretty hard and once you have a high level monster it takes forever to level it up. But this game isnt all bad. sure, to some people it can be tons of fun. But if your looking for a simple game with lots of replay value. this isnt the game for you...

Ein Monsterspiel ohne Pokemon

Yopi
17 September 2010

Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker

Yopi
4 October 2008

DQ monsters Joker. Luce mejor de lo que divierte.

Wulfie, Ciao
19 April 2008
  • Summary: Dragon quest monsters Joker ¿¿Toriyama??
