Summary: I played both dragon warrior monsters on gameboy color and dragon warrior monsters 2: tara's adventure on GBC (or was it GBA... i dont even remember) and spent probably close to 200 combined hours on those two games. This game, like those two, probably has about 30 hours worth of time youll spend in the story mode, doing the typical pokemon-style "start with 1 and end up the best trainer in the world" schtick.
Summary: I was excited about this game, and loved the idea of another monster-breeding rpg. Sadly this game just didn't cut it for me. I didn't even make it through the first monster tournament task before I gave it up. Life is short, and there are better games I'd rather spend my limited free time on. Why I dislike it: Story The story is incredibly forced and unnecessarily angst filled.
Summary: This game is pretty addicting. I've already spent well over a hundred hours on it. The only down-side is that square-enix shut down the World Monster Championship servers, so there isn't much to do post game beyond creating your personal dream team, and beating the end-game challenges. If you like games like Pokemon, I would definitely recommend this game and DQMJ 2 which just came out last week.
