Dead or Alive: Dimensions

Thunderbolt Games
17 July 2011
  • Excerpt: Kasumi’s goal was simple: kill Raidou. It didn’t matter how or when, just as long as he was finally stopped. He’d gotten away with too much. He’d turned away from the Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan, seeking power and glory. He’d left the village in shambles, leaving its leader – his own nephew – with an injured spine and a possibly fatal coma. He’d also stolen the Sky Torn Blast, the clan’s most powerful secret technique.

Dead or Alive: Dimensions

D+PAD
13 June 2011
  • Conclusion: Dimensions is a consummate example of the handheld fighting game. It’s packed with content (the highlight of which is a Chronicle mode which recaps stories from past DOA games), and brings back fond memories spent playing the Dead Or Alive games across previous generations. It’s also an effective restatement of the series in the minds of gamers.

Dead Or Alive: Dimensions

AV Club
30 May 2011
  • Excerpt: Team Ninja’s Dead Or Alive series has played a specific role in the videogame canon over the past 15 years: It’s the boobie fighter. Even when the game was brand new in 1996, it didn’t matter that it was a 3-D fighter with solid one-on-one fundamentals that were accessible and differentiated from those in Virtua Fighter and Tekken .

Kohan II: Kings of War

Fragland
19 June 2012
