Crime Lab: Body of Evidence (DS) Review
8 January 2011
Summary: I try to find a few positive things in each game, but I really can’t come up with anything for Body of Evidence. The nicest thing I can say is that it had potential for a halfway decent storyline, but then that just makes it worse considering how bland they made it. I suppose if you’re trying to own every DS game out there this might be a worthwhile purchase, but otherwise I’d avoid it at all costs.
Excerpt: Crime Lab: Body of Evidence is a murder mystery game that melds CSI-like plot with puzzle game mechanics. The franchise was previously known as Art of Murder and featured the same main character, Nicole Bonnet, an FBI agent. Can you find the serial killer before he strikes again – or will you just lose interest?
Conclusion: A decent detective title that will often challenge, delight and entertain you throughout a reasonably sizeable adventure. Another solid example within its genre that ticks all of the boxes and provides an enjoyable experience for the player.
Pros: Extremely intuitive, Nicely presented, Provides a decent challenge
Cons: Audio shortcomings, Too clever for its own good sometimes
Summary: Overall, while it does have its flaws and the gameplay itself isn't terribly exciting, City Interactive have done well to create an enjoyable adventure game with Crime Lab: Body Of Evidence. With its engaging storyline and interesting use of the extra DSi features, it's a unique title and one game fans of the adventure genre should take into consideration.
