Boing! Docomodake

Game Boyz
20 March 2009
  • Excerpt: I have to be honest and say that when I received Boing! Docomodake for the Nintendo DS I had no idea of what the game was about and who the main character in the game is. So thanks to the power of the internet I did a little research and found out that the mushroom like character is actually based of a cell phone mascot popular in Japan. Yep, a game released in North America is based on a Japanese cell phone mascot from Japan’s NTT DoCoMo.

Boing Docomodake

Game Vortex
18 March 2009
  • Excerpt: If you were wondering what's behind the Boing Docomodake name, it comes from a Japanese cell company, Docomo. Docomo's mascot is the main character in this neat little game, and the "boing" part has to do with the way you'll navigate through the game. It's a funny notion, a mainstream game featuring the mascot from a company most people don't know in the US. In the end, none of this matters; Boing Docomodake is a good game, regardless of its corporate provenance.

Boing! Docomodake DS

GamePro.com
18 March 2009
  • Excerpt: A strange candidate for localization if I ever saw one, Boing! Docomodake DS portrays the adventures of Docomodake, the mushroom mascot of a major Japanese mobile provider, in the form of a platforming puzzle game. Of course, the cuteness of the shroom is universal, and the game is not awkwardly peppered with ads like you might expect.
  • Pros: Cute characters, fun Mini mechanic

Boing! Docomodake

  • Conclusion: Bevor ich Boing!
  • Cons: nichts Neues, wenige verschiedene Lieder, Touchscreenunterstützung, einfachste Handhabe, dürftiger Umfang, jederzeit recht einfach
