Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled

Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled is a RPG for the Nintendo DS developed by Studio Archcraft and published by Graffiti Entertainment. It was previously known as Project Exile in 2006. The game centers around a magical kingdom called Bel Lenora where everyone has the ability to use magic. The story follows the events of two non-magical characters that enters the kingdom and were banished, one 15 years before the other. Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled is compatible with the DS touch screen and stylus. Players can choose to play the game completely using simple button, the stylus, or a combination of both. The game follows the RPG format and divides the game into several segments: exploration, combat, and plot scenes. Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled has an ESRB: E (Everyone) rating.

Features

Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled is an RPG game with a turn-based combat system. The main character that is played by the gamer is named Kairu. Kairu is a war-orphan who is taken in by the unnamed General who defeated Vai (the non-magical character that was banished from Bel Lenora 15 years before). Kairu faces exile and persecution due to his inability to use magic which causes people to distrust him. Other non-playable and playable characters in this game are Aurora (Kairu’s sister), Nephi (who has his eye on Kairu’s sword; Isa (playable character) who is a white haired woman who uses two scimitar; Vai who as a character with no ability to use magic, led an army of demons and their worshippers against the kingdom 15 years ago. Vai is a playable character; Rogurd who is a one-eyed treasure hunter that wields a pole axe; Nym (playable character) and an 8th unnamed playable character. The game is a RPG-styled game that features turn-based combat. Black Sigil is different from other RPG games through its feature of a tactical aspect mode which provides gamers with the ability to observe the positions of their characters as well as the positions of the enemies. Each of the seven characters has their own pre-determined skill set, with the eighth a fully customizable character. The characters are well-balanced to compliment each other’s skills within the party. Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled features 50 to 60 locations with over 1000 maps. Gamers are allows to travel on the world map in various vehicles that are found throughout the game.
