Conclusion: Having played Blood Bowl the boardgame in the past I was really looking foward picking it up again on my DS. Turn based battles seem to work quite well on the DS (see Final fantasy tactics advance or disgaea). However while the underlying game mechanics are ok ( they are exactly the same as the board game) they are let down by ugly graphics and a poor interface. If I'm being honest it looks like this game was rushed out to coincide with the Pc release.
Conclusion: I bought this not realisng it was second hand. It was a mistake as it does not work. When I switch it on it starts with the 3rd level - what happened to the firet 2? I have read the book but still cannot see what is wrong.
Summary: As the other review states in japan the ds paddle controller is included with this game as the game was designed around its use. Because the euro version does not get the paddle controller you will not get the experience as it was intented to be. Its like playing guitar hero without the guitar, you just wouldn't do it unless forced to. Avoid this version.
avoid like the plague - get Japanese import instead

Summary: In Japan this comes with a spinner that plugs into the GBA port on the bottom of the DS, allowing proper control. In Europe we're charged twice as much for half the product. How can you play Arkanoid with left/right button presses or a stylus? Avoid, avoid, avoid...
