Summary: This game is ok if you can find it cheap, and I mean really cheap. If you see it almost being given away, you may find it to be ok, but if you paid too much, it will seem to be a rip off. The game is hosted by a 3D polygon of Jeff Foxworthy, he explains the rules, but you can hit any button to skip it. You then chose 1 of the 5 fifth graders as you would on that show, before you start the questions.
Conclusion: Well, this game is a bit of a mixed bag. While fans of Foxworthy or followers of the show may like this game, people looking for a good challenge will want to skip this. While it does offer some challenge, the absence of a time limit really hurts the gameplay and the weird CGI models add to the disappointment. Even though I have followed Foxworthy for years, I say skip this game and if you want to know more of the show and considered this game..
Pros: I have to admit I've have been a fan of Jeff Foxworthy for years and I have watched the show from time to time to see some of these college educated students loose to grade school questions, so I was intrigued when I noticed this game setting on the shelf and for $9.99, the price was right.
Cons: Well, this game is very bare bones, it basically has nothing really much to offer than just answer questions, but there is a twist, there is no time-limit to these questions. At first I thought I had something turned on or off and aftering consulting the manual there is no time limit to answering them, so even though the questions can be challenging, you have enough time to look up the answers and advance.
Summary: I don't know what to say that's already been said. Yes, the questions repeat and yes there are things in here that 5th graders know that I don't, mostly regarding music. I play approximately zero instruments. I did learn a few things, mostly geographically, historically, and dealing with literature. I've played this probably 200 times and I've solved the million dollar question about 7 different times. If it's algebra, no problem. If it's anything else, I'm in trouble.
Summary: this game is just like the tv show, without the commercials. i am surprised at how much i DON'T know ! my hubby thought for sure the tv show was fixed because he said "who couldn't answer 5th grade questions?!" well, he has only made it to the 1 million dollar question one time and that was using his 3 cheats. it is a great game to play just to see how much you remember. it is also great if you have those know-it-all friends, you can test them.
