Summary: Fantastic little game! I love 'metroidvania' types of games AND I love the Aliens franchise. This combines them both into a great 2d throwback, while still throwing in some twists like a 5 man fire team that you can switch between, permadeath & get this...actual jump moments accompanied by that great Alien sound cue. You'll instantly recognize it when you hear it. Weird but cool how the developer captured the creepy feel of the films (well the first 3 anyway).
Summary: If you want to play an interesting alternate story about the Sulaco and Sephora, play this game instead. It was also made by Gearbox, and they obviously penned this before Colonial Marines because the Sephora is in this game as well. It's a decent 2D shooter with plenty of action and fun. The story gets crazy, but still a very fun game with almost a Metroid-feel to it.
Summary: I have a question; Have you been waiting for a good Aliens game or a good 2D Metroid game? How about both? If so, it's your lucky day - That's just what Aliens Infestation is. It adopts the Metroid formula, dropping you into an area that you gain more access to as you find new weapons and items. There are also countless service ducts that can be destroyed with explosives and walked into, allowing you to find ammo, health, or even upgrade your weapon.
Summary: Aliens for the DS is surprisingly one of the best Alien games created. Although, not in the Canon of Aliens per say, there are plenty of highlights that pull you into the world. In a Metroid like set up you explore relatively small maps. Getting better more powerful upgrades as you go. It's a fun few hours for any fan of Metroid Alien-style. Controls are spot on if not a tad cramped for large hands on the DS.
Summary: It was a pretty awesome game, Its very Metroidvania. For those who dont know what this means, Its Like Super Metroid or the Nintendo DS Castlevanias. Its pretty linear in the way that you are always told go here, Do this, But you are still pretty free to explore as you want. Its dark, Gloomy and it does indeed have a few scare moments like the old resident evil. Music is fitting and dark. There are plenty of characters like, 14 in all but you only get 4 at a time.
Summary: I love this game. It's a near perfect sidescrolling shoot-em-up and an Aliens game. Trouble is, it's too short. Really, someone could probably beat this game on the first playthrough in, like, five hours, and it feels even shorter on replays. I love this game, but I wish it were longer and maybe a bit more challenging in some places. It would've been nice if there were SOME problem solving somewhere in the game, but there's really not.
