Summary: I really like this game, it is a very refreshing metroidvania style game. I think that it could use some work though. First there is barely any reason for exploration. Second there are interchangeable weapons in the game, but they are either overpowered or extremely weak. Otherwise, this is a pretty decent game.
Summary: Plays well on the 3ds. In my opinion, its much better short-and-sweet version of Alien 3 for the SNES. Not very difficult. Yes, when characters die, its permanent. But there are plenty of other soldiers in the field to take their place. The only real difference between the characters is their cartoon face during the few cut scenes. For $10, I do not regret this purchase. It's not a masterpiece but its easy to pick up and put down for a total of around 10 hours.
Summary: Good looking 2D sprites and backgrounds, looks and plays like a Metroidvania (with Aliens!). I have only played 2 hours, feels very solid, but has not managed to keep me very engaged. 3 stars so far.
Summary: Fantastic little game! I love 'metroidvania' types of games AND I love the Aliens franchise. This combines them both into a great 2d throwback, while still throwing in some twists like a 5 man fire team that you can switch between, permadeath & get this...actual jump moments accompanied by that great Alien sound cue. You'll instantly recognize it when you hear it. Weird but cool how the developer captured the creepy feel of the films (well the first 3 anyway).
Summary: I really enjoyed this game. It's been a long while since I played a good side scroller, or a good Aliens game for that matter. This game is the best of both worlds. A perfectly functional side scroller and an excellent game based on the Aliens franchise. I'll have to agree with many of the reviews below; BETTER THAN COLONIAL MARINES! Sad to say, but it's true. This game is very simple as is the story that comes with it.
