Advance Wars at heart but walks a little off the path set by predecessors

Summary: Between this game and Advance Wars Dual Strike, I will say Dual Strike gets a slight edge. Dual Strike sticks extremely close to the original Advance Wars formula laid out from the prior two games on GBA. But that is not a bad thing, those are near-perfect portable strategy games.

Summary: Note for potential buyers: If you are buying this from Skyvo-Direct USA, you may receive Dark Conflict in lieu of Days of Ruin. They are essentially the same game, but Dark Conflict is the European version. Haven't found any issues playing it on my US 3DS, but keep that in mind.

Summary: Before playing this game I had only played the first two advance war games. Which were great games, but I couldn't help but thing something was missing. This game has found that something that was missing in those games, Plot.
Summary: This game was a big side step for the series. After three games that essentially built on top of one another the 4th game needed to be something different. They mostly succeed in taking the series in a new direction.
Summary: I played (and loved) all the other games in the franchise. They (in most missions) left the victory in front of you with many paths to it. Zerg rush with infantry, send waves of planes, flank with ships exc. I found that this game hardly did that. You try it your favorite way and looks.
Summary: Days of Ruin is just a cherry on top of the perfect computer game series that is Advance Wars. It's been 6 years since this game came out and like all of the previous versions it holds up to this day and has amazing game play and is just as much fun playing through the 10th time as it was the first.
Summary: I love the Advance Wars series and this one took a different approach to it. The story was more mature and the graphics were very dark compared to the lighthearted art style of previous entries. Despite being almost like a reboot of the franchise this is every bit as fantastic as the others.
