Summary: I stumbled upon this game when I read some top ten Nintendo DS/3DS lists. I had never heard of it, but went ahead and purchased it based on the strong reviews it had received. I really enjoyed the story; the premise is engaging and the characters are interesting. The dialog among the characters seemed realistic for the most part and was fairly entertaining, too.
Summary: This game is really fun overall. It is an interactive story-line with multiple puzzles spaced through and many options to choose what you want to say and do. My only problem is the game makes you play through it multiple times if you want to get the full story-line but at least it gives you a fast-forward button for content you've already done.
Summary: I'm a big point-and-click adventure game fan, so I was naturally interested when I heard about this game. It had awesomely positive reviews, so it seemed like a winner! Unfortunately, I was busy with other games in my backlog so I didn't get around to playing 999 until now. So, does it hold up to my high expectations? Let's find out! Graphics (score 8/10): The art style of this game is best described as "anime-inspired" without being over the top about it.
Summary: "999" managed to keep me hooked through multiple playthroughs - with different endings each time, you can't help but want to go through it just "one-more-time" to learn more about the back story and who the culprit is. If you are an anime/manga fan, then you'll notice plenty of cliches in the story and dialogue, but it is still an extremely interesting story. Very adult themes makes this definitely not for kids - it deserves the Mature rating.
Summary: This challenging but fun puzzle game will really give your brain a workout. Be sure to keep a notepad handy as you'll need to keep track of certain clues to solve the puzzles. Some sections are a bit too wordy, but overall it's a fun game.
Summary: I love this game. I'm currently on my third playthrough and taking my time to strive for the "good ending" (got 2 different bad endings so far). I think this game does an excellent job at keeping the player intrigued with its plot. Only gripe I have about this game is having to replay puzzles you've already solved in previous playthroughs.
Summary: To put it simply, this game is wonderful. There are minor points of frustration to be sure, but overall, 999 delivers. First of all, the writing and story are spectacular. And the character development is nearly unparalleled in today's games. 999 serves up a deep, gritty, and rich narrative that absorbs you into another world. The gameplay element, comprised of various puzzles, while not the strong suit of the title, are fairly engaging as well.
Summary: This is, simply put, an amazing game. The story and the characters really make this an enjoyable experience, and the puzzles are fun to complete and figure out. The only reason I give this a 4/5 is because I actually played the second game in this series before this one, and it makes a number of improvements over this version ( integration of voice acting, longer story, tougher puzzles). Do yourself a favour though and pick this game up.
Summary: I loved the storyline and the puzzles, though I didn't really like the repitition as much. Since there's no battling, the replays are practically the exact same until you reach another set of doors.. so by the end, I was just trying to complete it as fast as possible cuz I just wanted to know the ending.
