42 All Time Classics (DS)

Rex Inego, Verdicts
30 September 2012
  • Excerpt: Wow - 42 games on one tiny cartridge. Surely not thinks me. Maybe they have cheated by including small variations of the same game. But no. 42 different and separate games there are. And there's enough variation to keep everyone happy. Card games, board games, arcade(ish) games. Games of chance and games of skill.

Is every one a classic?

  • Excerpt: "...as you do play all 42 games in the collection and introduces you to games that you might not have considered playing before. In my case I discovered Takeover which is great fun to play. I think that this mode becomes pointless once you've unlocked all the features and games, so I probably won't use this mode again when I've completed the Hard level. ===Mission=== This mode lets you play the games but achieve certain requirements. This is my least ...
  • Pros: Good selection of games, challenging, multiplayer mode
  • Cons: Some obscure games, sound effects and music, can't save games

Good Game, but gets boring

  • Excerpt: "I received this game as a present and was actually surprised at just how much I first enjoyed it. Although I had to unlock many of the games, there were still many for me to choose from. Now I know this game has a high reputation, and I can tell why, it is so easy to use, for children and adults alike, but after I had played this game for just over a month, I had unlocked all the games, but I soon found myself bored. I had played all the games, ...
  • Pros: Lots of games to choose from

Featuring the likes of solitaire, rummy, blackjack and texas hold`em it is a great mix for card lovers. They have mixed in some extra games like billiards, darts and mahjong to add something new. Stamp play lets you try all of the games starting off easy and moving on level by level through all 42 games Mission play uses most of the games but uses rules set by ...

A bit of variety and fun for the DS!

  • Excerpt: "...fact it is so cheap. 42 All Time Classics is available for around £15 and you would not want to pay more than £20 even though it is a really good game as you can get it cheaper! At the moment it is at about £16 at Amazon so if you have a DS you have no excuse not to buy this fun and relatively cheap game! Any DS owner should buy it! 9/10 ...
  • Pros: Lots of good games, cheap, 42 games, fun, multiplayer mode

Not all classics, but still a classic collection

  • Excerpt: "42 All-Time Classics is a game you should have if you own a DS. There's something in there for everyone and although the box says ages 12+, I have to disagree. I'm pretty sure there are some smart kids out there much younger that 12 who would give you a run for your money in multi-player mode. The games can be played single and multi-player against another DS opponent or the computer. Multi-player can be over the internet or wirelessly with another ...

42 All-Time Classics Review

Walter_Ko..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: "42 All-Time Classics brings the best-loved card games, board games and parlor games to the Nintendo DS. The controls are simple and there's also a multiplayer mode that pits your skills against players across the world. Some of the 42 games include draughts, darts, poker, bridge, backgammon and billiards, so something should be up your street as there is a lot of variety. In all, I have not found one game in "42 All Time Classics" that has bored ...

One of the best DS games ever!

helenc1, Play.com
2 December 2008
  • Conclusion: If you like playing card games and other board games this is for you. As the titles says 42 games. You never get bored of playing these games and if you can't decide what to play there's the stamp mode, which randomly picks a game to play. If you win you get 3 stamps and move on to the next one, If you lose you get 1 stamp and play again until you get 3 stamps.

42 Games But Are They All Classics

wigglylit..., Ciao
10 October 2008
  • Excerpt: "42 All Time Classics was the must have DS game for Christmas 2007, it was selling for silly prices on Ebay and I searched high and low to get a copy for my daughters stocking. Ten months on and it's one of the favourite games in our collection. The game, as the name suggests, consists of 42 mini games all bundled onto one games cartridge. The games are split into eight categories, basic card games, intermediate card games, advanced card games, ...
  • Pros: Brilliant in multiplayer mode
  • Cons: Some of the games are rubbish
