Summary: I own another one of these "megamix" collections, so I already knew what I was in for. What stinks is that you start with maybe 10 unlocked mediochre games that you have to beat in order to earn enough points to "buy" whatever next level of games you unlock. The problem is, some games are just impossible to beat and after playing them 10-20 times, playing the same few unlocked games over and over to try to earn points/unlock new games-it's not fun anymore.
Summary: Review from my 8-year old son: These games are very frustrating. The controls are too slow. They should have different music. The music is almost exactly the same for all the games. But the music for each game changes a little bit each time. It's just random. Note from the mom: Very frustrating is an understatement! The controls are very poor. I would give it one star myself.
Summary: Let's see. Buy a product that advertises 101 games. Start playing and quickly learn you can only play FIVE out of 101 without unlocking the other NINETY-SIX! Thought for Atlus: advertise 101 games, buyers (remember us???) can immediately play 101 games. GASP, what an idea! Atlus, I like the concept of these little games. You have some new ones I would have ordered. "Would" is the key word.
Summary: I really wish that the description had said you had to unlock the games as you go, I never would have purchased the game if I had know that you only get a few games to start with and they are timed. And you have to get through the first ones to unlock more. If I bought the games, I should be able to play the ones I want, whenever I want.
Summary: My 6 year old did not enjoy the games as much as I thought he would. Lot of games are still locked and would not open unless he clears some levels, which are more challenging than our expectation. I would rate this purchase as average. I bought him Yoshi Island adventure - he's enjoying that one!
Summary: I am very disappointed with this game. You can only play 4 or 5 games to begin with. In order to play any of the other games, you need to get a certain score on each of these games and it will open up 4 or 5 more. Since this is the way it is, it should have told you before you bought it. I could not get the high scores so I had my daughter-in-law and my grandchildren try it. They got through the first 5 games, but could not get the next ones.
Excerpt: I bought this game as a newcomer to the Nintendo DS & thought it would be a good starting point for me. However the levels of games and the fact you had to complete a certain amount of games before you could move onto more of them let it down a bit. In my opinion this would have been a lot better if you could choose from all 101 games from the start.
Conclusion: I love puzzle games and thought this would be a great buy. It's quite good at first on the whole, but becomes boring very quickly. Alot of the the indivudual games are complete rubbish, but some are very good and fun to play. Easy to get coins and unlock more games but very repetative overall. If you manage to see it for less than a tenner then get it, but not really worth paying more than that.
