Horrible dryer that broke within six months

AndyYurechko, Viewpoints
14 October 2014
  • Excerpt: This dryer was awful. A major part broke with the appliance within six months of the purchase. The heating coil broke on this dryer, so the clothes that I would put in did not dry no matter how long the cycle was. For some unknown reason, the warranty did not cover this part.

This was good dryer. It had a huge capacity.

  • Excerpt: I am a fan of this dryer. It has a large, 7 cubic foot capacity which is a lot of clothes for me. I can literally fit twenty pairs of jeans in the dryer without any issues. It doesn't take long to dry clothes either.

Have owned this dryer twice!

7 August 2014
  • Excerpt: I have owned this dryer two separate times. I had the original one for almost 10 years, until it finally broke down on me. I decided to buy a used dryer as a replacement and it happen to be the same exact one I had. I am just as happy with it as I was the first time around.

Not as fantastic as we had hoped.

  • Excerpt: When our washer went, we replaced it with a cheaper counterpart and loved the results. So when our dryer went, we figured we would do the same. Unfortunately, it did not yield the results that we had hoped for. They dryer was easy to set up, and easy to use.

POC Dryer!

Booker Steve, Amazon
17 July 2014
  • Summary: worked for 5 months then began heating unevenly. You will spend a fortune in electricity.iT takes 120 minutes to dry a large loAd of towels. Sold by Lowes who sent out a repair man 3xs and Whirlpool sent out theirs 1x but unable to fix it and they will not replace this lemon.

"Works for single folks"

  • Summary: I've had this dryer about 7 years and other than some occasional noises it worked fine... until I got married. One month after moving in together I saw sparks and the motor stopped.

Love Love LOVE!

  • Excerpt: I'm usually weary about trying new dryers because you never know what can go wrong. I have just came off of a gas dryer, and moved onto electric. I cannot believe all of the little perks this product has.

Sorry I bought it!

GoT forever!, Amazon
3 June 2014
  • Summary: I hate this dryer, and wish I'd spent more $$ for a better one. My complaints: The timer buzzes for **less than a second** when cycle is finished. I need to carry around a manual timer to alert me to check to see if the time is up.

Very efficient dryer!

  • Excerpt: I use the Whirlpool WED4800XQ Electric Dryer all the time at my partner's apartment. I have never had a bad experience drying clothes in this dryer. This is a nice size dryer and it can dry a substantial amount of clothes in a decent amount of time.

"Very good--exceeded expectations"

Modeoftravel, Sears Outlet
18 February 2014
  • Summary: For an inexpensive model, this dryer has done an excellent job. It has many settings, though I miss a 15-minute cycle (30 minutes is minimum) and some heat setting aren't available on certain clothes settings (e.g., "high" on "casual") and there are no heat settings on the timed settings.
