Excerpt: I also have the noisy Hotpoint CTD00 Tumble Dryer. The only solution offered is below: glenn''s review of the August 22, 2009 1:54:46pm. Does anyone know of a fuller description on how to do this. My CTD00 doesn''t correspond to glenn''s description.
Excerpt: I have owned a CTD00P for just over a year and it has always been very noisy indeed, due to the drum scraping parts of the metal bodywork. It was inspected by a Hotpoint engineer initially who managed to keep it quiet for a short while, but then the noise resumed again. After the 12 month warranty had expired by 9 days, the CTD00 packed up altogether. A telephone call to the Hotpoint Customer Service resulted in a request from them for £89 `callout`. Abysmal.
Excerpt: do not buy this product its rubbish had it working for about 2 weeks and started tripping my electrics off then had a replacement that was ok for over a week then that has started to trip electrics taking it back tomorrow to empire direct ,wont be getting another hotpoint thats for sure.just be careful of the shops as well they try to fob you off and direct you to hotpoint when in fact when you purchase the product from the store the contract is between you and that...
Excerpt: I have a tumble dryer ctd00p. After 6 months it started to trip off the electrics. The engineer put some new components in, but 13 months later the dryer tripped the electrics off again, it is full of water. The dryer is rubbish, do not buy it!
Excerpt: NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER buy hotpoint laundry goods, they are absolute rubbish ! I`m sure when they manufacture them they have timers in built so they can countdown to just over the year and then BANG! You will be paying out time and time again, after lots od debate with the good lady we decided to take the huge plunge and buy a miele tumble dryer, wow what had we been missing out on, its just like a rolls royce compared to a ford escort, simply amazing even for the large...
Excerpt: Absolute rubbish. Kept tripping out electrics due to poor quality heating unit. Side panels of it worn and allowed elements to short out on frame. Also very noisy. £80 to replace and refit heater. These panels are made from a coated cardboard type material which is highly unlikely to last much past a 1 year warranty.
Excerpt: Do not buy hotpoint or particularly the extended warranty. They are contracted to replace parts but not the machine so you have to wait for an engineer (if he turns up) after the 7th repair I`m now junking the machine and buying another brand.
Excerpt: Utter rubbish product, do not buy. As other owners this product is noisy, ineffective drying and eventually at 1 year and 3 days old the contraption tripped the electrics. Awful product, would score 0 but not an option so sadly have to give it a point.
