This refurbished drill has an odd featur

Jeff, CPO

  • Excerpt: I bought a refurbished battery operated drill. There is an odd feature: the light stays on after the depression trigger is released; maybe this is why it was sent back and the problem was not corrected. Please note that I did not receive any manual with the purchase. This feature will cause the battery to drain faster. The light is not critical to the operation of the drill.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Good Battery Power, No Bit Slippage

Good, but not so good

Tom, mechanical man, CPO
3 June 2012
  • Excerpt: A refurbished drill with a doubtful battery that wouldn't charge at first without some fiddling with the charger. I didn't even try the second battery that was still sealed in the plastic wrapper. I was disappointed with this drill being made in China, not as nice as ones actually made in USA! My preference will be a Bosch drill bought locally.

Where's the beef?

B. Johnson, Amazon
7 November 2011
  • Summary: When I initially charged this drill up and used it for the first time, I was quite pleased. After putting it through moderate diy-er paces over the last year and a half, my opinion has slowly degraded. The chuck/arbor has developed run-out and the batteries' life span is less than 20min. of continuous, medium-duty work (driving screws in softwood). The batteries' safeties also cut out very easily under heavy loading which makes me question the torque rating.

Weak Weak Weak!!!!!!

PB Max, CPO
24 May 2009
  • Excerpt: This is the WORST Refurbished item I have ever purchased. The batteries were shot when I received it and the drill had very deep engravings as well as the batteries. I called and had a second set of batteries sent to me which were also shot. Finally on the third set that was sent to me..... they actually took a charge. I would think that REFURBISHED would mean in perfect working order..... but I guess CPO has some pretty low standards.

Beware of Wear

Greg, CPO
18 May 2009
  • Excerpt: This produce was purchased as a reconditioned unit. While a small amount of wear was expected, this unit had signs of extensive use. It appeared to have been used by a Professional Contractor and then returned. Even though purchased at a nice discount, I would have expected something that had less obvious heavy use. The drill does work well.

A good drill for light duty work.

  • Excerpt: It works well for installing cabinet door hinges and drawer guides and door hardware. Would not work well for screwing down deck boards. Works well for small trim screws.

As strong as my old 18V?

not a nickname guy why am i required to, CPO
28 April 2009
  • Excerpt: I'm pretty much a Milwaukee guy and have had great luck with the original 18v stuff for a long long time. I do love the smaller size of this (new) drill but it seems the batteries are not as powerful. I haven't done any scientific bench test, just seems that way.
