Summary: Burned this jewel up in 3 minutes core drilling with an 11/2 diamond saw. I had on of these several years ago and it was a hoss. I could bore anything with it but someone liked it as much as I did and they "borrowed it"
Summary: got it loved it. not for long. first time I used the hammer mode on a 1/2 inch dia. hole the motor smoked and lost all power. I'm home owner and not a contractor. I did not abuse the tool. In my estimation it is junk. I did not take the other bad reviews seriously, I should have.
Summary: Dead after 3 weeks of using it to mix mortar and grout for small job. always used this on low 1 speed and never more than 5 mins of continuous use. AND IT STILL DIED. Grabbed my cordless drill to finish the job this shouldn't have the makita name it should have harbor freight brand.
Summary: I searched the internet for a drill with a chuck that could accept a drill shank larger than 1/2". Both Home Depot and Tool King recommended the Makita line as they are advertised as being 3/4" (unlike Amazon which calls them 9/16"). The Home Depot website says "Chuck Size 3/4".
Summary: Drill is a great value excellent price. It has a great power to pierce both normally or with hammer option. Really easily pierces the concrete. I'm very happy with my purchase and recommend the brand makita, are excellent tools
Summary: My Porter Cable hammer drill sounded like a regular drill, when it was new. Shrill, loud and I thought that was the sound of working tool. This Makita changes everything, at least for slow to catch up me.
