Summary: I bought this drill to replace another brand standard drill that died after 30+ years of use. I needed to drill holes in poured concrete for Tapcon screws. What a difference a hammer drill makes for this job. It will drill a hole in solid poured walls in seconds were a standard drill would take a few minutes. Very comfortable to use with the rubber padding and side handle. I do not regret buying this drill and wish I had sooner.
Summary: I bought this low end hammer drill because I needed something fast, and cheap. It performs flawlessly, and I have done 3 jobs with it and it has already paid for itself. If you don't need a DeWalt, then don't waste the money! lol. I wouldn't mind a keyless, 1/2" chuck, but you can't have everything in life...not for $65.
Summary: This is my first time using a Hitachi product. Well put together, worked fantastic drilling into poured concrete. Price was right too. From now on I will include Hitachi products when looking for more power tools in the future.
Summary: This thing cuts through masonry like butter. Used it to help finish concrete block storage room. Switch to turn hammer action on and off means I can use it to replace my ancient "normal" drill. Love this product and having the right tool for the job makes all the difference!
Summary: This drill goes through concrete so much easier than my old hammer drill. Plenty of power and "umph" to get the job done! Got it on sale for $65 and I would put this up against the $250 brands any day.
Summary: With the rotary drill I previously used, trying to drill even one hole for a 3/16" anchor in my 30-year-old concrete floor was virtually impossible. With my new Hitachi FDV16VB2, using the same bit as before, I drilled 7 such holes in a few minutes. The depth gauge is an extra benefit, and the manual is in clear, good English.
Summary: I needed to hammer drill 3/8" holes in concrete with very hard aggregate. My old drill could not handle the job so I used the internet to search for good hammer drills. This is the one I selected and I was amazed at the speed! I was able to drill the holes in a few minutes with little arm fatigue. I just guided the drill and it did the rest. I look forward to my next hammer drill project!
