Summary: This hammer drill is an addition to my collection of Hitachi drill/drivers. I purchased it based on the performance and warranty of the other purchases I made in the past, and am most happy with the fact that I know have many Hitachi tools and all the batteries are interchangeable. This is a very important thing for me!
Summary: I've used a Dewalt for 8 yrs......Sure wish I had made the change to Hitachi sooner ..........Not only does this hammer drill out perform but all the adjustments work Flawlessly Not to mention My hand fits the grip ........less fatigue when in use for longer periods.............Goodbye Dewalt.........
Summary: I use this drill daily as a technician and it has yet to let me down. Stands out as a great value and can compete with a dewalt or rigid any day without breaking the bank. Drills into brick, concrete, wood, plastic, metal no problem. With the right bits this drill can penetrate just about anything. Particularly impressed with its ability to handle 16 to 20 inch long concrete bits. The drill is not rated for bits that large but can handle them in a pinch.
Summary: not up to par with other brands the drive stripped out before I finihed only a quarter of my deck. Had to order a battery for my rygid to finish the job while hitachi was in for repairs. Happened again at 1 year old now I have no repair centers near the house.
Summary: Recently I purchase this Hitachi DV18DBL hammer drill. I did use for about 10 minute on my handyman project. And this tool make very good first impression. I know is too early for full evaluation, what take about 6-12 months. But for now I'm very pleased with this tool.
Summary: Compared this against the dewalt. Smoked a Dewalt at work but it was heavy duty. Held this drill once and thats all it took. Instant love between my hand and this drill. Such love that my Johnson is now jealous.
