Summary: This little gadget makes so many small jobs take so much less time. I go to this first over my screwdriver as it saves me a couple of minutes each time. Lithium batteries are the only way to go nowadays. No memory effect. No self discharge. And no worrying about when to take the battery off the charger to prevent overcharging.
Summary: Although I knew the DB3DL2 was a light weight, I thought a Hitachi would be built to last and impulse bought it. It drills ok as long as the wood is soft and the bits are sharp. About the third time I used it to put a screw into a 2x4, I heard a crack and now it just grinds with no drive. Can't find the receipt, so it looks like it will be to much hassle to try to get this feather weight repaired.
Summary: I chose this tool based almost solely on the reviews on amazon, boy do I feel like a sucker. Absolutely no power even on low, and very disappointed in the battery life. I only use it to remove and install 1/4 and 5/16 head screws. I would love to get my money back.
Summary: I purchased the product mostly because of the value and the positive reviews. However, after i put it to use i was very disappointed with the lack of power, the fact that it would pinch my hand when i switched the hinged body from angle to straight, poor lighting of the target unless the drill was oriented within a 45 degree portion of the 360 degrees.
