110% Satisfied

mdocdeer, Ebay

  • Summary: Excellent drill and power. Great for drilling into stone when using the hammer option. Used the drill for boring 3" holes into pine logs and the drill handled it with ease. Great RPM's for using as a polisher and attaching a wire brush to clean rusted metal. The chuck grabs drill bits and other accesories tightly without slipping. I have never owned a better drill and with Dewalt's reputation I am planning on getting many years of use.

  • Summary: Great drill, very strong, use it to drill holes in steel without any issues. Side grip is great for holding drill steady, corded so power does not weaken.

Right price, right features

Lou Fripp "Craig S", Amazon

  • Summary: DeWalt product quality has never disappointed--unlike Makita and some others. The adjustable handle and depth-rod make it easy to hold the drill with both hands, and to gauge the hole depth as drilling progresses. An included carrying case would have boosted the rating to 5 stars.

Broken after only a few uses

Taproot, Amazon
8 June 2014
  • Summary: The hammer portion of the drill works well, but this isn't as strong as one should expect from a 1/2" drill. I purchased this for drilling 4" holes through drywall and paneling. It only lasted two holes before it broke (the spindle no longer receives power from the motor). The fatal material was 1x cedar paneling and the drill was rested between holes ... It's still under warranty, so I'll have it repaired.

DeWalt 1/2" Hammerdrill

Savy Grandpa Shopper, Amazon
28 February 2014
  • Summary: Very nice tool. Works well. May not be heavy enough commercial use, but fits very nicely in my DIY hand. I've used it extensively to install hurricane panel anchor studs into concrete block and cast concrete systems. Piece of cake. Reasonable price.

What a great tool!

Steven D. Recker, Amazon
24 February 2014
  • Summary: I have tried to mount hose hangers and flagpole holders for years on the brick outside walls of my house... they always fell out after a while of use. I finally woke up and bought this hammerdrill. It pounds while it drills all at the same time. Goes right into the brick morter. I insert a plastic sleeve and can safely screw in to hold whatever I am mounting. I have already mounted my metal flagpole holder as well as a nice new decorative iron hose hanger.

Made drilling a cement floor very simple

Scott McAfoos, Amazon
17 January 2014
  • Summary: I've tried to drill cement / concrete before with proper bits and a standard drill, and its always been a bear. Finally broke down and got this drill and wow. I didn't realize how easy drilling masonry could be. Super happy with it. Its I'm first hammer drill, so I don't have a proper comparison, but I couldn't imagine drilling masonry to be easier yet.
