Summary: We run 3 of exactly the DW505 model for several years. First, I got one for our workshop. Then, 2 Co-Workers bought for the same model for themselves, after using our Drill. This is - I think - the only 2-speed reversible hammer drill without clutch. With a 13mm chuck.
Summary: I bought this drill as a "refurb" but I swear it was new. Drills through tough concrete like butter. Make sure you buy quality masonary bits though as the cheap ones are good for just 1 hole. I bought the DeWalt bits and they perform great.
Summary: I purchased this drill from Home depot, I used to be in construction, Now Farming. The first burned up on me. The second one the chuck wouldn't tighten and hold the bit While impacting. The third one the plastic gears inside stripped as they did on all my Dewalt drills.
Summary: Do not buy this unless you want a plastic, yes plastic gear box for the hammer mechanism and gear transmission, with cheap sleeve bushings not ball or roller bearings. I have the older made in USA model this replaced , that has a cast metal gearbox, real bearings and cost less than this.
