Summary: Recently started buying DeWalt tools. The best decision I've made with regard to tools. This drill is light, strong and speed adjustable. It has a three speed transmission - pick speed for the job. There's a light with 20 second delay. Drilling steel and could not slow it down. Has the 3.0 AH battery that should hold a charge for quite a while. The battery charged in a 30 minutes. I have nothing but good things to say about this drill. I'm very glad I purchased it.
Summary: I have owned a corded Black & Decker hammer drill as well as a Skil 12-volt cordless drill for years now. While the hammer drill is fairly powerful (900-3,000 RPM), the fact that you have to plug it in somewhere is a drawback, especially when working in hard-to-reach places. One such space was in my attic, where I needed to install an exhaust fan as close to a venting hole in the roof as possible.
Summary: I recently purchased this drill as a replacement for a Milwaukee. As always, Amazon's shipping was very quick and arrived in perfect shape. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: PROS: This drill's power is stout. Nothing that I have attempted so far has been able to slow it down. The trigger is sensitive enough to manipulate for fine screw insertion. The light is useful and stays on for a couple of seconds after the trigger is released. It is really useful in shaded or darkened areas.
Summary: Better Ergonomics: This drill feels right in the hand, better balance. By getting rid of the battery stem they gained freedom to design a more ergonomically shaped handle, which I really like. They also lost compatibility with the older XRP pod type batteries, but I much prefer the newer form factor battery. The slide in battery is much more compact and easier to install and remove. This drill is lighter than the 18v XRP drill, mainly due to reduced battery weight.
Summary: First, I have to say, "This is one impressive piece of equipment"! Very powerful! Recently started building a new house and used this to drill our stringer holes through the studs for electrical. It is extremely strong without any bog-down. Some of the holes where through the corners and top plates and it had no problem at all. This drill has lots of power and torque. I was impressed that we were able to use it right out of the box.
Summary: I was a girl raised to use tools, so I was anxious to try this hammerdrill/drill/driver when Amazon Vine made it available. It comes in a plastic case that everything fits into quite well. Other than the drill with battery there is a side handle, second battery and the charger . There are no drill bits so you have to furnish your own. It came with a charge so I took it out and started using it immediately.
Summary: I have had an older Makita cordless for almost 10 years now. I love that drill. It always had an impressive amount of torque and would last a good long time. But this drill blows it away. The torque on this is unbelievable and the little details are what make this drill great. The LED light is really handy and the ergonomics of the drill are superb. I can't recommend this drill enough. It has everything you want in a cordless drill: 1. Plenty of torque 2.
Summary: Received drill in good condition, everything advertised was in the package. After taking it on the job, I discovered that one of the triple jaws was worn/broken. This can cause a centering problem with larger bits but no so much with the smaller, so it's not a major issue for me. It would have been nice to know that this "refurbished" drill still had a problem, though.
Summary: Great power out of this drill!! 3 speed metal geared transmission works flawlessly. Especially lightweight for a hammer drill and lithium batteries have good life. LED light is okay for locating target in low light areas but chuck casts a shadow when up close and makes it difficult to see. No bit holder on unit but available as aftermarket add-on. Handle clips on very easily and takes literally 3 seconds to attach.
Summary: Enough torque to scare an AMG Mercedes and the battery life is terrific. Feels bullet-proof (the way I'd expect a DeWalt product to feel) and the trigger is very easily modulated. Pair it with some titanium drill bits and never worry about abusing it.
