Summary: I have had good luck with Dewalt cordless drills. I have had this one a couple years and it is dependable, holds a charge well, and is powerful. It has two batteries, which is necessary (my first Dewaly cordless drill only had on battery, which was a pain).
Summary: My Dad had the earlier generation of this drill for years, and it was magic. When I started working on my house and needed a good drill, I balked at the price and thought I could find one just as good for cheaper. I spent more than the price of this drill on a collection of cheap drills which were flimsy, underpowered, or kinda dangerous. I finally broke down and admitted I wasn't going to do better than this drill.
Summary: Still going STRONG after several months of use. FAST charging with the lithium-ion system means that I never have to wait for a battery to charge because I've already ran the other one down. NOTE: The lithium-ion battery system used by all manufacturers will not allow the device the batteries are powering to use the battery past a specific discharge point. The device will simply fail to activate when the battery charge reaches a critically low level.
