Summary: Excellent driver (esp. for the $84 price tag at the time) I also have a Ridgid 18V driver, I prefer the DEWALT, the standard batteries are 2.4 amp and seem to be the biggest advantage over my the Ridgid counerpart (which comes standard with ~1.5amp batteres) It also seems to have a bit more torque, and does better on lower battery.
Summary: When I need to remove those pesky bolts from a valve cover or simply need some torque to perform a task, this is the tool that I reach for. It snaps into place nicely on all 18-volt standard and XL batteries. It is a welcome addition to my other DeWalt power tools. One Philips-head screwdriver bit is provided although you can pair this impact tool with any DeWalt or other bits and sockets with a 1/4-inch shank.
Summary: This thing is sick. Its so small and heay. It has SO MUCH torque in such a small driver. Match it with an Nicad 18v XRP. Great Little driver Have used dewalt drivers for years and they do last a very long time. Money well spent on an impact driver. A Name you can trust. PS. This is not an impact wrench, they make one just like this for impact wrench projects.
Summary: I've been a carpenter for 15 years so I work cordless tools hard. I already have a number of DeWalt 18v tools and batteries so this bare tool was perfect for me. Powerful, day-long operation and quick-attach chuck make this impact driver a joy to use. Can use the newer 20v Li-Ion as well as the older 18v NiCad batteries. Just make sure to buy higher-quality driver bits since the torque and impact this tool creates will chew through lesser bits.
Summary: Great little tool, drives 3" screws with ease. The only really bad thing about Dewalt tools that I have found is the switches are not the best and the cost of replacement is nearly as much as the tool itself. The LED light on this tool doesn't always show what you need it to, great idea, just not the best placement. The newer ones have 3 LED's around the actual chuck. I haven't tried that one yet but it seems a much better idea.
Summary: I hired a contractor to do some work at my house and noticed that he was using one. When I asked him how he liked it he said it worked very well and was easy on the wrist. After having had wrist surgery a few months earlier I picked up on his comment right away and ordered one. Have since redone our laundry room and it was everything I expected including being easy on the wrist! Looking forward to using it this fall when finishing our bonus room.
