Summary: Bought two of these drills, one for a relative, no problems whatsoever with it. I was so impressed I decided to buy one for myself, however when it arrived there was a gap of 3-4mm between the rear sleeve of the keyless chuck and the torque preselection ring. The torque preselection ring was not seated properly either, with a gap at the bottom which opened up when it was turned. Beware. Returned to Amazon.
Summary: The drill whilst of course useful has no chuck so that the bits when inserted and used get to a point where they are not gripped by the chuck and so the drill rotates but the bit stays immobile. Very infuriating. Also it lacks a lot of power and cannot undertake anything but the simplest of tasks.
Summary: Drill build quality is acceptable. What is unacceptable is the short lifetime of the 2-607-335-277 18v NiCd batteries which in our experience have lasted less than a year. Replacements are difficult to source and even the cheapest equivalents are similar to the cost of a brand-new drill. I cannot recommend this product which is being pushed out the door in huge quantities by the likes of B&Q.
Summary: If Amazon's description had said that the no-load speed of this driver was only 700 rpm, I wouldn't have bothered ordering it. Add to that the fact that the charger has no limiting function and the Bosch manual says nothing at all about proper charging times, overcharging, etc - well, it went back two days later. The DeWalt I ended up buying from Amazon for the same price was much, much better!
Summary: Product feels great. However. Charger does not turn off when batteries are full, and leaving them on charge accidentally for a day or two even occasionally will damage them permanently. Add to lack of low-battery cutoff, which will also reduce the lifetime of the batteries, and I'd have to say avoid.
