Summary: How can't you like flying around in a toy plane or driving a toy car? It is like being a kid again making up a epic struggle between good and evil with your toys the only difference is that in this game you get to be one of the toys! Some of the younger kids might get frustrated with the game as many of the missions require near perfect performances to beat.
Excerpt: I recently re-purchased a Dreamcast off Ebay to relive some classic gaming moments. The Dreamcast was my first console and I will admittedly always hold a fairly strong bias towards it, and subsequently, it's games; but i'll try to be unbiased and objective! Luckily, in the bundle, this gem of a game was there and, in spite of there being almost a decade gap between my last play-through and now, it was just as enjoyable. The premise is fairly simple.
Pros: Classic gaming gameplay at it's best . Great varied environments .
Cons: Multiplayer is weak/repetitive; few options and variety on offer .
Excerpt: Toy Commander looks deceptively like a shallow game aimed at kids. The storyline is that the bad toys are revolting against their owner, who plays too hard with them. Taking control of the good toys, you have to stop their bad ways, while trying to solve other household chores such as boiling an egg along the way! The game gives you control of different vehicles as you progress, starting from miniture bi-planes and tanks to trucks and cars.
Excerpt: Toy Commander itself is a very entertaining game which involves toys battling toys, (the armies of Andrew Guthy and Huggy Bear) with the victor becoming the true Toy Commander, hence the name. As you progress through the game, you will have to fight bosses, which you can pilot in the final battle against Huggy Bear. The gameplay is very sound, but just because it involves toys, doesn't mean it will be easy.
Excerpt: Toy Commander does exactly what it says on the in! Your are a commander in control of many toy tanx and planes and the aim of the game is to complete the levels to progress through the house. This is a very good, clever idea and I think that it works brilliantly well. The levels are not to hard, you can complete the game in a weekend, but the graphics are amazing and the multiplayer is really fun too.
Excerpt: Toy Commander is a game from top French developers Cliche !! Despite what the name suggests this isn't just one for the kids, guys and girls of all ages can find a lot of enjoyment in Toy Commander. The game involves you taking control a large variety of toy vehicles performing missions in a big and very graphicaly detailed house! Graphics: Incredibly detailed and nice special effects. Sound: Sounds and music are all relevant to the game.
Excerpt: Very similar to micro-machines was my first thought when I started playing toy commander. It proved to be much better than I expected though. Initially this game is very hard, even on the first training mission. However with playing time you get used to the strange controls and soon you’re cruising away completing the missions like there’s no tomorrow. The main plot is that your toys are revolting against you because you don’t treat then well enough.
Excerpt: don't play on the DC, but my husband does and when he first got the machine about 9 months ago this was his favorite game. Starts of you're in charge of various toy vehicles in different rooms of the house, each time you complete a level you gain a new room, and each room gives you a set vehicle or vehicles. You start in the kitchen with, if my memory serves me right, a tank of sorts and a plane.
