  • Excerpt: ''He shall appear from a far eastern land across the sea. ''A young man who has yet to know his potential. ''This potential is a power that could either destroy him or realize his will. ''His courage shall determine his fate. ''The path he must traverse, fraught with adversity. ''I await whilst praying, for this destiny predetermined since ancient times. ''Awaiting in anticipation. ''A dragon emerges from the earth as ominous clouds fill the sky.

  • Excerpt: I must emphasize the epic scope of this series. The original Shenmue contained only the introductory episode of this saga, in which our hero, Ryo Hazuki, traversed his hometown in search of the mysterious man who murdered his father. Shenmue II throws Ryo into Hong Kong, where chapters two through four unfold as Ryo continues his quest for revenge. Suzuki has promised 16 chapters total, so we've got quite a bit to look forward to....

  • Conclusion: To finish off, I give you my few problems with Shenmue. It is too easy; I was on the 3 disc in the second day! However, everytime you play, it’s a new experience. There is a minute amount of slowdown when a lot is happening on screen; however, the situation is rectified immediately. Then I come to my last major fault of Shenmue…that is…one day you will realise that this is just a game, one day you will finish it and it will all be over.
