Excerpt: Let's Get ready 2 rumble!!! That's exact;y what I would have said! The Dreamcast game Ready 2 rumble boxing is one of the earlier titles, and perhaps I think it could have been a launch game. It still is in my opinion one if the most playable games around! It's available on all formats (N64, PSX and Dreamcast), with the sequel 'Ready 2 Rumble round2' only on Dreamcast and Playstation 2.
Excerpt: This game was one of the first set of games released when the DC finally got released. Quite obviously it is a boxing game but instead of taking the approach of knockout kings and all other boxing games before it they decided to go for a more animated cartoon style approach to the graphics. This works extremely well and gives the game added speed another good feature is the in game audio although not brilliant it does the job it was intended to do.
Excerpt: Ready 2 rumble boxing was one of the dreamcast’s launch games way back over a year ago in October 99. Even though it is a year old and I have owned it for about half of that time, I still play it all the time. The reason for this is that it is a really really good boxing game. It has many modes including a championship mode and a gym to train up your players! If you like watching or playing boxing or fighting games then you will really like Ready 2 rumble boxing.
Excerpt: this game has brilliant gameplay that i enjoyed alot, even a beginner could get into this game as the controls are very simple and stringing together a good combo is done with ease, the game is not a serious boxing game and has a suitably wacky cast of characters from the crazily afroed "afro thunder" to the menacing "butcher brown".
Excerpt: Although boxing games have been out since the days of the spectrum, few have been playable enough for many people to take notice of the genre. Ready to Rumble Boxing is different, it treats the subject of Boxing with a sense of humour and all the boxers have traits and witty one liners. The game starts off pretty much as you would expect for a boxing game, ducking and diving your way in and out of an opponents line of fire and trying to knock them out before the bell.
Excerpt: it doesnt look to good but looks can be deciveing, ready 2 rumble is a boxing game with a difference, you can choose from some really wacky characters and fight them againt each other in a boxing frenzy, you can pull off really wacky combo that look really funny but do a lot of damage, there are some funny names characters like afro thunder, you can guess how he got his name.
Excerpt: Many of the games magazines, and opinions here, have been raving about Ready 2 Rumble. However, I did not find it be be such a great game, and got bored pretty quickly. Maybe I just didn't get into it, but I would certainly say that if you are thinking of buying this game you should rent it first, to see if it's for you.
Excerpt: This is a brilliant game, I have only played it on the dreamcast console and it is one of the best games I have, Aswell as sega bass fishing, this is a combination of a fighting game and a management game, of course, because it is on the dreamcast, this game will cost a lot of money, but I feel it is worth it, unlike many games, this one is not able to be completed in one day, if you manage to become the champion of one boxer, then new boxers appear to complete, at an...
Excerpt: The familiar cry of “Ladies and Gentlemen…..Lets get Ready to Rumble!” cannot be fully appreciated until you play Ready to Rumble on the Dreamcast. Each character has his or own personal style and some of the one-liners (and the hairstyles!) will have you rolling in the aisles (Afro Thunder is my personal fave although Lulu is great at kicking-ass).
Excerpt: What a game. If ever there was a good boxin game this would be the master! All of the charicters are comics but what can you expect with names like Afro thunder and butcher brown! Those of you who have played on the demo might be a little put off well dont be the actual game is not quite as hard! All of the charicters are mixed, Lightweight, heavy weight ect!
