  • Excerpt: As a reviewer, it’s important to keep your bias on a short leash. There are times when it becomes difficult to keep things to yourself, though. After experiencing a game like Jet Grind Radio , it’s almost impossible for me to contain my excitement and write a straightforward review breaking down the parts of the game and comparing them to whatever else is available on the market. The problem is, there’s no reference point for Jet Grind Radio .

  • Excerpt: Remember all of those controversial games, like Mortal Kombat, Doom, and Grand Theft Auto? This falls into that category. This game is about graffiti, a third person skating game, cell-shaded. When you turn the system on, it says 'Graffiti is art. However, graffiti used as an act of vandalism is a crime. Sega does not condone or encourage vandalism in any way'. Paint can’t kill you though, can it?

Review : Jet Grind Radio for Dreamcast

  • Conclusion: Jet Grind Radio Future was probably the main reason why I got an Xbox in the first place and not having the Xbox makes me miss it. Every Video game expo that goes by I hope that Sega will announce another sequel or at least games that were inspired by Jet Set Radio. The game is pretty surreal, creative, fun and an absolute must. It is just not possible to be upset or uptight after playing this game for a bit.

  • Conclusion: Unfortunately the games audio doesn’t hold up as well as its visuals. While the sound effects and voice work are quite acceptable, the music is very repetitive. It doesn’t take long for the songs to become irritating during the course of a level, making the use of one’s stereo a must. What makes the title shine is its gameplay. The unique mix of different genres slapped together makes for a very interesting package.

A handful of graffiti artists were flown out to the Bay Area to demonstrate their skills and compete for a cash prize. Willie "Da Mayor" Brown, in an attempt to carry out the city's "No Tolerance Project," denounced the event and called for its cancellation.

  • Excerpt: Its the 21 century, in Tokyo. Depressed kids are every where. The only thing that keeps their spirits up are motorized skates, and a radio station called Jet Set Radio. The kids express themselves by spraying graffiti every where. Cop crackdowns are getting more brutal. S.W.A.T teams, tanks, and helicopters are being sent to stop these kids from expressing themselves.
