Excerpt: This game is fantastic & is by far the best racer on the Dreamcast (even better than MSR & Le Mans 24 hours). It is not really a 10 minute "pick up a play" type game but will reward the patient gamer who wants to drive "properly". You start the game by buying a quite small car and competing against similar vehicles in several tournaments. Progress is made by winning races/tournaments, modifying your vehicle and then earning more money in harder races.
Pros: EXCELLENT GRAPHICS, GAMEPLAY & LONGEVITY
Cons: SOMETIMES TOO HARD, EATS AWAY HOURS AT A TIME
Excerpt: Sega have got a huge catalogue of A-grade gaming titles under their belt. You only have to look as far as the likes of Virtua Tennis, Sega Rally, Sonic and Shenmue. Of course, everyone makes a mistake from time to time and one of Sega’s more recent mistakes is this – the truly average Sega GT. One of those games that you will pick up in the shop, have a look at some of the specs and screen shots and think ‘Wow, this looks like it’ll be pretty good’.
Excerpt: I brought sega GT in Electronics Botique for £20 brand new, which was a good price for the time I brought it, which was about 8 months ago. I read mixed reviews on the game but I thought at this price I couldn't go wrong, it was meant to have great graphics and really good gameplay and wide slection of cars. I was wrong, I put it into my dreamcast and after about an hour of playing it I noticed how poor this game was compared to Gran Turismo on the Playstation.
Pros: nice selection of cars and tracks and you can build your own car .
Excerpt: After reading the review in Official Dreamcast Magazine and seeing that it had only received a score of 5/10 I was very sceptical about buying it. I only bought it because I saw it second hand for £11. So I took it home in the hope that it would be acceptable.....and then....I had the biggest shock of my life. It was amazing! (Now this could be a biased review because I absolutely love racing games and I would't recommend it to anyone who wasn't devoted to cars).
Excerpt: Fist let my admit something. I have a problem. This doesn't involve any sunstance abuse or anything silly like that, this is a real problem. I am addicted to my Dreamcast. I especially love sports and driving games. Yes I have all the extras, the steering wheels and all that. This is where it gets hard, cause I made a mistake. Yes, a bif mistake, I bought MSR first.
Pros: Umm, that a hard one - Oh, it's not MSR
Cons: Graphics,Sound, Controls, Limited options, need I go on
Excerpt: I know a lot of people who love games, and of these people, I know one person in the entire world who dislikes Gran Turismo. When it first appeared in 1996, GT became by far and away the best console game available, it’s nearest rival at the time being Tekken 2. GT was the most popular game in existence, the reason being a combination of lush (for the time) visuals, incredibly realistic physics, glorious sound effects, and probably most important of all, the fact that it...
Pros: Immense lastability, handling grows on you
Cons: Graphics are good but don't live up to expectations, terrible sound
Excerpt: I am very disappointed. I really expected this game to blow GT2 away. The graphics are nuts, the cars are cool, and both the sponsorships and the car factory ideas are really revolutionary. I even enjoyed the drag racing!!! Unfortunately, all of this is nullified by poor control and unrealistic collision effects. The controls are WAY too touchy, there is seemingly no way to come out of an oversteer situation.
Excerpt: I have a small circle of friends that are proud to call themselves "Grease Monkeys". Enormous fans of anything automobile, my driving buddies know the most minute information regarding cars you could ever imagine. From gearboxes to gearshifts and bi-axels to bi-valves, if it's in there, they've heard about it. It comes as no surprise then that their favorite collection of racing games is (you guessed it) the Gran Turismo series.
