Crazy Taxi

Crazy Taxi is a score attacking racing video game developed by Hitmaker and published by Sega. It was released for Dreamcast on January 24, 2000 in North America; January 27, 2000 in Japan; and February 25, 2000 in PAL region. It only enables single player mode. It is rated as 3+ by ELSPA, T (Teen) by ESRB and 12+ by USK.

Features

Crazy Taxi is set in sunny coastal California locales with surrounding much similar to San Francisco. The main objective of the game is to pick up customers and take them to their chosen destination as fast as possible. Players have a choice of four drivers and their cabs, each of whom has slightly different attributes; Axel is the well-balanced cab choice, BD Joe has the fastest floored speed but least controllability, Gena has the best acceleration as well as deceleration and braking and Gus has the heaviest cab, enabling him to drive well off-road and even onto most oncoming traffic. As customers reach their destination, money earned. Besides money, players are also required to earn score by performing outrageous stunts such as Crazy Through, near misses other vehicles; and Crazy Drift, barely controlled skidding. Moreover, players are also rewarded with ratings namely, Speedy, Normal and Slow. In case if the player is too slow and the customer jumps from the taxi, Bad rating will be given. There are three time conditions feature including three-minute, five-minute and ten-minute. Plus, players can also play Arcade Rules which the player starts with an initial time limit of around a minute, which can be extended through time bonuses earned for “Speedy” and “Normal” deliveries, as well as by making good use of whatever time is left over after making a delivery.
