Buzz Lightyear of Star Command
1 November 2000
Excerpt: Where to begin? At first, the graphics in Buzz Lightyear of Star Command look like they may have some potential -- Buzz himself looks like he’s cel-shaded a la Jet Grind Radio -- but soon you realize just how drab the game really is. The same enemies appear over and over again throughout the game, from the yellow robots to the turrets, and the levels are quite repetitive. It’s not really ugly, per se, but it’s certainly not mind-blowing either.
Excerpt: Houston, We Have a Problem. Eagerly flipping on his Dreamcast, little Johnny Ogglesby, 9, is all smiles and laughter. He can't wait to start playing his brand new game. The Sega logo reflects off his giant, goggle-sized glasses, and Johnny gets the slack-jawed, half-smiling, half-yawning look known to very credible scientists as "The Gamer's Stupor." It looks like it's going to be a good day for Johnny.
Pros: So bad it's funny, Marketed to kids, Not really Buzz Lightyear!, Game makes no sense, Boring
