CRI's Aerowings was one of the launch titles for the Sega Dreamcast. Featuring a very realistic flight model and graphics that could rival the high end PC flight sims, it was impressive. In fact, it could be considered the first true console flight sim. Read more
There are some real challenges and interesting missions here for those of you who are console flight sim enthusiasts (yes, all three of you). Areowings 2 is a decent game. It makes for a nice little console flight sim, but it’s by no means a "must buy" title. With the legions of other titles like Jet Grind Radio and Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast, this title quickly gets bumped down in the food chain. If your looking for something a little more serious with a simulation flavor to it though, this is a game worth checking out. Read more
The planes themselves are all looking very nicely modelled, and in some of the missions there's the added challenge of operating from a carrier if you reckon you're up to it. The flight sim genre is relatively under-represented on Dreamcast, with only Deadly Skies (ODM #4, 5/10) really challenging Aerowings 2: Airstrike in the airborne action stakes.
