Excerpt: I carry this mixer separately in a padded mixer bag to the gigs. I am not using it in a rack mount situation. It is very easy to carry and just set on a table.

The mixer is well-built and gives off the impression it can last a long time.

Everything is easy to see, from the inputs/outputs to the dials.

Sound quality is what you'd expect, and it is fabulous.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Use, Excellent Sound, Versatile
Excerpt: The sound quality is top notch. It's transparent and adds no noise. With all of the settings for input levels, trim controls, etc you can use it for any music source with no problem. I usually use it with a computer, 2 cd players and 2 microphones. The built in processor is great for making a lower quality music source like an ipod sound acceptable. I use the "ducker" every gig.
Excerpt: This is an amazing mixer!! It not only looks great but it's size is very convenient and the sound quality is great.

The effects for the microphones really comes in handy especially if your mic'ing up small bands and even for Karaoke use.

I highly recommend this mixer.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that I wish it offered effects to the channels as well.
Excerpt: I do tons of weddings and other similar mobile gigs almost every Saturday and also play weekly club/lounge residencies on Thursdays and Fridays - some of which I use my own player/mixer combo (currently the MEP+3K+HDD in a compact SKB case). So I'm pretty much what you'd call a 50/50 DJ: half club, half mobile.

With that in mind, I must say it was a bit of a disappointment that the new 5K didn't incorporate the effects of the DJM-800.
