Excerpt: I am putting together a simple home studio to do voiceovers and audio books, and to be honest, the Behringer mic pre was not my first choice. But some needed car repairs cost more than expected, suddenly shrinking my budget. I thought the idea of having a VU meter was cool, as some mic pre's have only a few LEDs; some just one LED to indicate presence of signal, plus one to indicate clipping. Some have no level indication whatsoever.
Excerpt: I used it with my Audio-Technica AT2020. It makes the vocal warmer, clear and better. However the mic connector of XLR is a bit lose. Other than that it's an amazing product with less expensive.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: It's a mini mic modeling preamplifier in a 9,5" case with 16 voicing curves, a large blue VU meter and VTC (Virtual Tube Circuitry) technology installed. The result is EXCELLENT!! It is light weighted and it's quite cheap! You can choose the type of audio that suits your voice without the use of an extra equalizer. Well done Behringer again..
Excerpt: I picked this up to use with some condenser mics (MXL, and AT) and I've very impressed with the sound. If you want to colour the sound it will, but it also can do a great job a just powering the mic and letting audio through. The adjustable low-cut filter is great to remove low-end rumble, and the phase-reversal switch has come surprisingly handy as well. The modeling is useful, and it does seem to being some warmth to the signal when you want it to.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Great Sound Quality
Excerpt: I use this product as a microphone pre amp for an audio technica 2035 microphone. I have a radio show where I play pre-recorded skits and faux advertisements - think of GTA's radio shows. This device has worked splendidly for my purposes, I get clean audio and it sounds professional. I have used more expensive equipment when recording sound in the field for movie and documentaries, and honestly this sounds just as good.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy Setup, Great Sound Quality
Excerpt: I needed a little more level from an RE27 in a audio booth. This feeds the audio board without cranking the gain and adding noise. We don't specialize in audio production but this works great for quick voice overs.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Easy Setup, Energy Efficient, Great Sound Quality
Excerpt: I use the pre as a handy level monitor and phantom power source for my condenser mic. It has a dial full of nice preset eq settings that give a great start to a final mix. You can always take away high and low frequencies from a mix but this allows you to eliminate floor rumbles in an instant and add subtle clarity that lets the source shine crystal clear. VERY QUIET!!!! VERY HAPPY!!!!
Pros: Easy Setup, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality, Lightweight, Quiet
Excerpt: The MIC800 is easy to learn and quick to set-up. I own a small in-home studio that I keep rather dark. I found the lights on this unit (especially the blue meter) to be very fun to look at in my little studio. As pre-amps go, it is crystal clear. I have used it on vocals, keyboards, guitars, bass, drums, and drum machines. The modeling control is well labeled and really helps to find the optimum sound.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Awsome Looking Lights, Easy Setup, Energy Efficient, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Excerpt: I bought a new kcm ribbon mic and couldn't get anything out of it. I have preamps on my tascam 2488 recorder and on my mackie 1402-vlz3. Could barely hear it when it was cranked. Put this preamp on it and it now it pegs the meters. Great preamp for the money. Smooth sounding and great flexibility.
Pros: Accurate Controls, Clean Sound, Durable, Easy Setup, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
