Summary: The bottom line of the previous reviews--positive and negative--is you must know if this keyboard is compatible with your DAW. ProTools and Logic users are happy as clams because the MKII works with that software. Go to the M-Audio website and look at the Direct-Link downloads. If there is a software/driver download for your DAW, you are in business. If not, look for a keyboard that works with your software.
Summary: Man This M-Audio Axiom 49 2nd Gen Midi Keyboard Is Pretty Cool......I Love It, I Use This For My ProTools M-Powered 8 And Fruityloops 9 Works Very Well With Protools. I Went On The M-Audio Site And Got The Directlink For PT8 And No Problem With The Setup Everythings Working.....So With This Device Makes My Production Very Smoothly. Works Pretty Good On Windows, But If You Have To, Get It On Apple. But Besides That I Give This Bad Boy A 10 Out Of 10.
Summary: I VE BEEN HAVING MY AXIOM FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW ITS GREAT KEYS FEEL GREAT AND ARE RESPONSIVE OVERALL WONDERFUL CONTROLLER JUST WISH DIRECTLINK WORKED WITH SONAR BUT I KNEW THAT IT DIDN'T BEFORE I BOUGHT IT
Summary: My current setup is a Macbook Pro running Logic with many 3rd party AU Plugins. The keyboard and all its functions work great. Plug and Play out of the box with basic functions, download the drivers off the M-Audio website and install in Logic quickly and easily and everything works as advertised.
"Semi-weighted" key action (compared to Axion Pro too)

Summary: A lot of people have reviewed this controller in terms of its integration with various DAWs. I'll just quickly say that with my ProTools M-Powered 8, integration was a breeze. I haven't fully figured out how to use all of the features, but at least using the faders for channels and the knobs for instruments is super easy. I haven't tried any of the advanced MIDI features yet because I'm not really interested in those features yet.
Summary: This completely blew me away. This is definitely the best controller I have seen for the money, and one of the best on the market. The size is not limiting for me, but someone along the lines of a pianist might want to consider the 61 key. The semi-weighted keys on this are nice, but don't be fooled. It is not the same as hammer action keys. It's more like piano shaped keys with a comfortable, firm synth action.
Summary: Another flawless M-Audio product I'm satisfied with. Brilliant service from Amazon as well as a price way below that of M-Audio's recommended retail price. Shipping price was very reasonable, quick and on time. 5 Stars!
Summary: See description/ other reviews for functionality and features. This review deals with their support. My Axiom 49 worked for about 6 months until it suffered from the dreaded "blue screen of death." In the case of axioms, this means that the screen backlight turns on, but the unit is still completely unresponsive. After a two month battle with their so called support, I got an RMA number and sent it back. When I received my "repaired" unit, it was still broken!
