Summary: Keeping in mind there is only one person in the house, but I don't feel that should make much of a difference, except on wear and tear. It does a good job in chopping up and cleaning. It doesn't seem to take too much before you notice it needs to be turned on. It could be a little more quiet but than again it could be a lot more noise too! It's been installed going on four years and have not had any issues with it. Yes, I recommend it.

Summary: There is, what I believe, a factory issue as the plastic retaining nut located at the top of the disposal was over tightened at the factory. Having tried different ways to remove it, I consulted the shipper and his advise was tried, but to no avail. I took it to a local plumber and he's exact words, after giving it a try, was good luck. He expressed his thoughts that where "you get what you pay for". I will not purchase this brand again.
Summary: The unit works well and was delivered very quickly. The installation was also simple. The reason I gave it three stars is that it is a low-cost unit that is very noisy. I had hoped to replace my broken disposal with a quieter model but it was impossible due to the narrow space the previous unit came from. If you need a reliable, compact, low-cost model, this is the one you want. If you want something quiet, look elsewhere.
Summary: I bought this product as a replacement for an older GE brand "Disposall" unit--the older unit was at least 10 yrs old, if not more. I have replaced sink garbage disposals before and so was confident that I could do this one as well. As with most replacements, the tougher part was getting rid of the old equipment. I read other reviews that mentioned no need for plumbers putty. I tried that one--and it may be because of my sink--but the gasket leaked.
Not super easy to install, instructions are lacking.

Summary: So it works ok. Managed to get it installed with some help from a neighbor who is an engineer. The instructions don't tell you anything at all about how to get the electric cable attached to it (doesn't come with one). The instructions for installing the side drain pipe actually say to call a professional to install it. That part was fairly simple though compared to the electrical.

Summary: This was a replacement for my old GE disposal. It was a perfect fit which meant that I did not have to replace the drain ring and bayonet mount. My disposal uses a cord and plug, and I simply used the old disposal wiring as a guide. In fact, I used the same wire assembly. I took my time since I am not that handy, and it took about an hour. The service from Amazon was amazing, and I got the disposal at a much reduced price compared to local outlets.
Summary: I bought this disposal last winter and installed it in February, 2014. If you do not use it several times a week, it locks up and hums. A normal disposal that is designed well comes with a wrench that you turn if it gets jammed. Not this one. I had to jam a hockey stick down the sink and manually move the grinder around in circles. When you do that, the plumbing becomes dislodged. I already flooded the cabinet the last time it froze up.
Summary: Updated and new. old was GFC520F. TURN OFF CIRCUIT BREAKER. Use old electrical cord. Affluent down drain spout with gasket is inside the unit.. Take your time. Loosen old unit with WD40 or similar. Let it soak for a day, repeating as needed under the sink at that coupling area. I needed a small hacksaw to trim affluent pipe to fit under sink properly. I used the old one as a template. Reason I bought this was because the plumbing is all the same.
