Beautiful, Reliable, Easy to use and Quiet Dishwas

Summary: The dishwasher looks beautiful and the top controls are easy to use. I was skeptical of the top controls at first but went ahead with this one and we all love it! We are a big family and we run the dishwasher almost once every 24-30 hours. We do pre-wash the dishes because if we don't pre-wash and put the dirty dishes inside it it would start to smell in a few days. It would still clean it if we don't prewash but because of the smell we don't use that option.
Summary: This unit replaced a 14 yr. old "plain Jane" builder's model. We are blown away with how quiet this dishwasher is!! You can actually hear the television now :) As for washing the dishes it does a great job. It has many options available and we like the "hidden" controls (located on the top of the door).
Summary: More capacity, much quieter, and better cleaning than the "builders grade" model our house came with. Install/use tips - To further reduce noise, place a square of carpeting underneath before putting the bottom trim panel in, and seal air gaps between the edges/bottom using vinyl tape. Cascade Platinum tabs seem to work best. To avoid fingerprints on the stainless door, Sheila Shine works well.
Summary: Cons: I expected far better from Whirlpool and after the brackets holding the plastic wheels broke on the top shelf 4 times I have resorted to a far cheaper and more practical fix. Instead of contacting Whirlpool to send yet another replacement bracket and telling them the machine is defective, I went to the hardware store and bought 2 brass 1/4" flat head bolts with washers and drilled out the plastic to just smaller than the bolt size.
Summary: This dishwasher looks very nice but it just does not get the dishes clean. Very unhappy. My silverware is always filthy. And I really don't want to have to wash the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher to be washed. They just don't make things like they used you. And it was not inexpensive. I had a dishwasher back in the day that you could put dishes that had caked on food and the dishes would still come out clean.
Summary: Ours is less than a year old and has three problems. First, an adjuster on the upper rack broke, seemingly because it became brittle. Second, the unit is leaking from the bottom. Third, the unit seems to be louder than it was when we had it installed. Repair service coming this week. Fortunately, the unit is still under warranty. BTW, we bought a Whirlpool washing machine and it failed in less than a week because of a defective tub.
