don't buy whirpool extended warranty after original warranty expires. go to sears even if you bought on amazon

Summary: I bought a new kitchens worth of appliances in 2007. After my Sears warranty lapsed, I responded to a mailer for more warranty protection. I called and had them add in my fridge and washing machine. They say there is a 60 day waiting period since it was now "out of warranty" and that the paperwork is mailed to you 4 -6 weeks later. Well I got busy and didn't notice that the paperwork never arrived. * months later I received a solicitation email for my fridge.
Dishes come out with tiny food particles on them, not clean

Summary: This is the only dishwisher to choose from because it fit our opening ( down to 23 1/2 inches) under our kitchen cabinet. Has no means of grinding up food particles. The silverware tray prevents the silverware from getting totally clean, I guess I'm not sure as to how you place the silverware into the basket to get them clean, there is still food particles on them. This machine is slow in the process of washing dishes.
Summary: We purchased this solely because it was the Whirlpool brand. But I really hate this model of dishwasher. 1. I do not like the silverware tray being on the door because something always catches when you pull the lower rack out. 2. I hate the silverware tray because it is difficult to put the silverware in the slots provided. PLUS, this means that you have to handle dirty silverware when you put things in. AND, you have to touch clean silverware when you take things out.
Summary: Little dissapointed with the cleaning of this dishwasher. Has a kitchen aid and that would blow this one out of the water with cleaning. This dishwasher seems so limited in space and i dont care where they put the utensil basket. Need to have the door halfway up to use it. Inconvenient when loading.
Summary: We really really wanted to like this model, but it just does not seem well made for the price we paid. First, it does not seem to get everything clean and often leaves a film(even with rinse aid). Also the top rack seems to come off frequently. The silverware holder that can either hang off of the door or on the bottom rack does not work well. If it is on the door the silverware does not get cleaned well. When it is on the bottom rack it tends to fall off easily.
I Just Can't Overlook the Big Flaw of this Dishwasher!

Summary: My husband and I have owned probably 8-10 dishwashers in our lifetime so we had expectations for our new Whirlpool Gold Series. But, no matter what we do, we still have dripping wet dishes. We finally read online and figured out it is because this dishwasher does not have a blower to assist in the drying. So even with the rinse agent Whirlpool recommends, you will have to "towel dry" a lot of your dishes!
15 months after I purchased...had to call for repair

Summary: Loved this dishwasher until after a finished wash I noticed all the display lights were on. Tried to push all buttons to no avail. Called for service and was told the display part had a short...250.00 later and the part still hasn't arrived. Paid too much for a short to occur!
Summary: Price and reviews on this machine were good. Read hundreds of reviews on many brands and this one won out. Silverware on door doesn't clean backside of silverware that faces the door, top rack doesn't hold smaller bowls well and dishes - even though are pre-rinsed do not come clean. My old Bosch worked better but the heating element failed so I was forced to seek new. Water temp checked - 140 degrees so they can't say my water is too cold. Just wash the top rack?
Summary: Bought this unit to replace a 12 year old unit of another brand, only because the interior of the new "other brand" was smaller. Bad move. Should have bought the "other brand" again. Our old one was super quiet and cleaned ANYTHING, even baked on, dry food in about an hour and a half.
Summary: On the plus side the unit is quiet. On the negative, todays units are slightly smaller than older units. Of course cycle times are much longer due to energy requirements and water consumption. Silverware basket sits out of the way but our flatware is wider and is accommodated by only one row of holes along the back row or the two opening in its center. Dishes do not always come out clean so it's necessary to pre-rinse most.
