I am not going to write a book like too many others have done regarding this machine

Summary: I am not going to write a book like too many others have done regarding this machine. I bought this dishwasher and installed it myself and so far have not had any problems with it. As with any major purchase, you are taking a chance, but this machine did come with a one year parts and labor warranty. Washes the dishes well and dries them well.
Summary: If performance is what you want, look elsewhere than this dishwasher. With today's energy efficient appliances everything is less - which is NOT more. I should have learned my lesson with the front loading washer having to leave the door open and constantly cleaning the mildew out of it, this dishwasher isn't much better. The heating element is by design much weaker and does not get as hot as my 10 year old unit.
As far as the bad reviews I have read on this Dishwasher

Summary: As far as the bad reviews I have read on this Dishwasher, be aware that Whirlpool makes Maytag, Kitchen aid, Jenn-air, Amana,Consul,Gladiator, and Bauknecht Appliances. Also, one of the reasons why your Dishwasher is not cleaning your dishes as well as the old machines used to is not the fault of the Dishwasher. The U.S. Government is now requiring ALL Dishwasher Detergents not to use Phosphates in their formulations.
Summary: This dishwasher is great. It easily holds 2 days of dishes for a family of five. Everything comes out super clean, except the silverware. By having the silverware container on the door it saves lots of space for other items on the bottom rack and I love that. But the silverware often come out dirty. I'm sure this could be remedied by using a basket on the lower rack, but I haven't had the dishwasher long enough to play with other ideas.
Summary: This dishwasher was a piece of junk from the beginning. It would not clean the dishes from the beginning. The retailer who sold it to me told me to use a special type of soap, run the hot water in the sink before starting it, and pre-scrub the dishes. He did not tell me any of this before I purchased the junk heap. I purchased it on 11/13/13. It now will not dry the dishes. Never purchase a Whirlpool!!!
Summary: Junk. Dead on arrival. Uses old school garden hose adapter for water hookup, an extra leak point. Doesn't include a 46 cent strain relief/wire clamp so the unit can be wired without additional parts. Insulation is falling off under the toe kick cover. Not as quiet as my old Maytag, despite being made by the same company. Takes almost three hours to complete a cycle.
Good dishwasher, roomy interior, deep top rack, very quiet

Summary: I bought this from Lowes, as it was on sale and I had a 10% coupon code. It replaced a 12 year old Kenmore unit that was slowly dying. It comes with the drain hose, but you have to provide your own power cord (if not hard wiring it) fill hose and 90 degree fitting. It was simple and straight forward to install. So far, I've used most of the cycles, and have had excellent results. The dishes are clean, and for the most part dry when I use the heated dry.
Summary: Pros: Love the dishwasher. Much quieter than I expected. Looks great!!! Really like not seeing the buttons. Stays cleaner. cons: The handle could be a little higher, because I tend to grab the door to close it rather than reaching under for the handle. Silverware in the door... Not liking it too much. The rinse agent was running out right on it and leaving an oily feel. I got it adjusted, but now use the silverware tray placed into the rack.
Summary: After six months of owning this dishwasher, I was told it was the BEST that it was GOLD series. I wanted the BEST dishwasher. However, it stopped working just after 6 months. I realize any appliance can break down...so I called Whirlpool customer service to set up a time for service person to come out which took a week. After taking the day off to meet my service man, I was told that it needed a new motor! He said it would take couple of days, but I waited 14 days!
