Summary: It cleans, but it is very difficult to load. If you don't load it correctly, your spoons will be spotted and dirty. Plastic cannot stay in it very long after cycle completed. It will warm and spot.
Pros: Attractive Design, Cleans Well, Energy Efficient, Quiet, Simple Controls
I am not going to write a book like too many others have done regarding this machine

Summary: I am not going to write a book like too many others have done regarding this machine. I bought this dishwasher and installed it myself and so far have not had any problems with it. As with any major purchase, you are taking a chance, but this machine did come with a one year parts and labor warranty. Washes the dishes well and dries them well.
Summary: If performance is what you want, look elsewhere than this dishwasher. With today's energy efficient appliances everything is less - which is NOT more. I should have learned my lesson with the front loading washer having to leave the door open and constantly cleaning the mildew out of it, this dishwasher isn't much better. The heating element is by design much weaker and does not get as hot as my 10 year old unit.
As far as the bad reviews I have read on this Dishwasher

Summary: As far as the bad reviews I have read on this Dishwasher, be aware that Whirlpool makes Maytag, Kitchen aid, Jenn-air, Amana,Consul,Gladiator, and Bauknecht Appliances. Also, one of the reasons why your Dishwasher is not cleaning your dishes as well as the old machines used to is not the fault of the Dishwasher. The U.S. Government is now requiring ALL Dishwasher Detergents not to use Phosphates in their formulations.
Summary: This dishwasher is great. It easily holds 2 days of dishes for a family of five. Everything comes out super clean, except the silverware. By having the silverware container on the door it saves lots of space for other items on the bottom rack and I love that. But the silverware often come out dirty. I'm sure this could be remedied by using a basket on the lower rack, but I haven't had the dishwasher long enough to play with other ideas.
